Juris Doctor / MBA Program
The Fisher College of Business and Moritz College of Law are excited to offer Ohio State students a dynamic dual JD/MBA degree program. JD/MBA students will learn the legal and business skills to prepare themselves for careers in government, corporations, and not-for-profits, as well as opportunities in entrepreneurship, consulting, marketing, analytics, leadership, finance, etc.
Students enrolled in the JD/MBA program can earn both degrees in four academic years. If earned independently, these degrees would require five years of study.
Admissions
Applicants to the JD/MBA Program must complete the application requirements of both Fisher College of Business and Moritz College of Law separately, applying independently to each school. Students may apply, be admitted to and begin one of the programs independently and then apply to the second program during their first year.
Both colleges operate on an application rounds admission basis, have small starting classes, approximately 225 students at the Moritz College of Law and 150 students at Fisher College of Business, and start in the autumn of each calendar year.
JD admissions requirements:
- A completed application form
- Updated resume with extracurricular activities and prior work experience (if any)
- Caliber of the undergraduate institution attended
- Undergraduate grades (overall and trends)
- Resume with extracurricular leadership and any prior work experience
- Law School Admissions Test score (LSAT)
- Two letters of recommendation from faculty members who have had you in class
- Admission essays
- English language proficiency (TOEFL)
MBA admissions requirements:
- An online application: applying & deadlines
- Application fee
- Admissions essay
- Updated resume
- Official university transcripts
- GRE or GMAT scores (test waivers available)
- Two references
- Video Interview
- Live Interview (by invitation only)
- International Applicants: English language proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo) view exemptions
Curriculum
Students admitted to the dual degree program often pursue the JD/ MBA according to this schedule:

Alternatively, the first year could be spent in at Fisher College of Business and the second year in Moritz College of Law.
Career Placement
The career management offices of both Fisher College of Business and the Moritz College of Law are available to our JD/MBA graduates.
In addition to the more than 300 companies that recruit from Fisher's Office of Career Management more than 100 law firms, corporations, government agencies, and other potential employers will use the Mortiz placement office facilities during the same period.
