The Department of Accounting & Management Information Systems is home to many outstanding faculty, research, programs, and alumni. The department creates new knowledge to improve the collective understanding of accounting and its role in improving economic decisions for the benefit of society. We have a rich heritage of educating leaders in the academic and practicing professions. We strive to excel by applying our mission statement to all our efforts.
MISSION STATEMENT
To advance the disciplines of Accounting and MIS through excellence in scholarly research and education, and through meaningful outreach activities. We do so to improve the management of organizations and the allocation of resources in the economy for the benefit of the people of Ohio and the global community. Our educational programs prepare individuals to be leaders in accounting and management practice, research and education.

Efforts to excel, from our department and the rest of Fisher, have resulted in accreditation from The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AASCB). The Fisher College of Business is fully accredited at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Our accounting programs are separately accredited by AACSB.
