Orientation
Welcome, Business Buckeyes!
Congratulations on your acceptance to The Ohio State University and welcome to the Fisher family! We’re excited to walk with you as you begin your journey as a Business Buckeye. Orientation is your first step toward becoming part of a vibrant community. You’ll connect with fellow students, learn about life on campus, explore academic resources and prepare to make the most of your time at Fisher and Ohio State. From learning about Buckeye traditions to building your first-semester schedule, we’re here to support you every step of the way.
What to expect from Fisher orientation
Before you arrive, it’s important to understand how orientation works for new students. Orientation programs vary based on the term you’re entering and whether you are a first-year or transfer student, ensuring you receive the guidance and support that best fits your path to Fisher and Ohio State.
First-year orientation is a two-day program designed to prepare you for both Ohio State and Fisher:
- Day One: You’ll learn about life at Ohio State, campus resources and how to get connected as a Buckeye.
- Day Two: You’ll spend the day at Fisher College of Business, where you will:
- Meet with your academic advisor
- Learn about your major and degree requirements
- Be guided through scheduling your first-semester classes
- Explore what it means to be a Business Buckeye
Transfer students participate in a one-on-one virtual advising experience focused on your individual academic path. You will meet with a Fisher academic advisor via Zoom to:
- Review transfer credits
- Discuss major requirements
- Receive guidance on course selection for your first term
Pre-orientation checklist
- Complete the Financial Responsibility Statement with Buckeyelink
- Activate your Ohio State email and check regularly
- Complete your math placement test
- Submit any AP scores or transcripts from post-secondary college coursework
- If necessary, register with Disability Services
What if I cannot attend?
If extenuating circumstances prevent you from attending orientation, contact the university to schedule a referral orientation. Referral orientations occur via email at the end of summer after regular orientation sessions. Referral orientation is not recommended as a substitute for traditional orientation; students are strongly encouraged to arrange your summer plans to accommodate orientation dates.
