For Jaja Liang, a third-year student majoring in international business and marketing, having the opportunity to experience an eight-week global internship where she lived and worked in Southeast Asia was an amazing time — one that she says she’d gladly do over again.

Fisher’s Summer Global Internship program enabled her to gain the global business experience she knew she’d need to after college, and it provided her the opportunity to live and work abroad.

As she planned her summer 2018 global internship, Jaja knew she wanted to explore a country influenced by both eastern and western cultures, and that offered endless possibilities for experiencing business in another country. For Jaja, that country was the Republic of Singapore.

During the two-month-long internship program, she had the opportunity to work for Caterpillar, a global Fortune 100 company, and to take a deep dive into the experience of living and working abroad.

“I acquired a better understanding of the responsibilities of numerous functions and disciplines within the business field and gained important skills that I know will carry me far — in not only my collegiate years but also in my post-graduation career,” Jaja said. “My summer was super eye-opening and unforgettable.”
