The Center for Real Estate is proud to offer a number of scholarships to both undergraduate and graduate students that range from $1000 - $4000. The Center awards approximately $35,000 on annual basis. The scholarship application process consists of an initial selection based on student's application and an interview with a scholarship committee. Scholarships are announced in the fall semester and awarded during the spring semester of the same academic year, however exceptions can be made.

2017-2018 scholarship application deadline was September 25, 2017.

Ohio State Scholarships

  • ICSC LBrands Retail Real Estate Scholarship

    Established in 2015, the LBrands Retail Real Estate Scholarship awards one $2000 scholarship to a full time undergraduate or graduate student interested in pursuing a career in real estate. In addition to the $2000 award, the student is given one year of ICSC student membership and will be connected to LBrands real estate division.

    Eligibility Criteria:

    • Full time undergrad or graduate student
    • 3.5 GPA
    • Preference given to minority students

  • Ohio Association of Realtors (OAR) Scholarships

    The Ohio Association of Realtors and its members, both past and present, sponsor over $20,000 annually in scholarships for students enrolled in Fisher College of Business and interested in real estate. There are nine OAR Scholarships which are awarded to students each year. Generally, each scholarship is between $1,000 and $4,000 and they are awarded to 10 to 15 undergraduate and graduate students. Results vary depending upon the size of the endowment and the number of qualified applicants. Students only need to submit one application to be considered for all nine scholarships. The application can be filled out and submitted electronically.

    Established March 8, 1956 by the Columbus Chapter.

  • SIOR Ohio Chapter Scholarship

    The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (http://www.sior.com/) Ohio Chapter, offers annual scholarships to Ohio university students interested in careers in real estate. The awards are typically in the range of $2000. While applications are awarded on ongoing basis and each application window is opened until August, earlier applications have a greater chance of receiving scholarships.   • T. Ewing Miller Memorial Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship was established by the Michael and Linda Stickney Foundation. Michael is the broker of NorthSteppe Realty, and the great-great grandson of Thomas Ewing Miller. This scholarship fund is to commemorate Thomas Ewing Miller's 125th anniversary of his Presidency and membership to the Board of Trustees of The Ohio State University.The fund awards 2-4 annual scholarships in the amount of $2500.   • Commercial Real Estate Women National Scholarship

    The CREW Network Foundation scholarship program supports future female leaders as they pursue university-level education that will lead to careers in commercial real estate. 15 scholarships are awarded and include:

    • $5,000 USD for tuition and books
    • Paid internship opportunity (summer of 2019)
    • Complimentary CREW Network student at-large membership (18 months)
    • Complimentary registration to the 2018 CREW Network Convention and Marketplace in San Diego, Calif.

  • International Council of Shopping Centers Foundation

    In addition to the Ohio State ICSC Scholarship generously funded by LBrands, ICSC offers a number of scholarships to both undergraduate and graduate students. Applications are usually collected in the spring and most awards range from $5000 - $10000. Please visit their website for information on all their graduate and undergraduate scholarships.

  • NAIOP Diversity Commercial Real Estate Scholarship

    NAIOP is committed to the next generation of CRE leadership and increasing diversity in commercial real estate. We are proud to continue our scholarship program for students pursuing a degree which will lead to a career in the commercial real estate industry. Preference will be given to students who have been traditionally under-represented in the commercial real estate field. Applicants must be a NAIOP University member in good standing; be a full-time undergraduate student of junior or senior standing or enrolled in an applicable graduate program; and have a minimum 3.0 GPA (4.0 scale).   • Pension Real Estate Association Scholarship Program

    In keeping with their educational mission, the Pension Real Estate Association awards scholarships on an annual basis to promising students studying real estate at the undergraduate and graduate levels. These scholarships are awarded through PREA's scholarship program and financial need will be considered in determining the amount of each award. Potential recipients who demonstrate no need will be eligible to receive the minimum award. PREA also partners with the Robert A. Toigo Foundation to grant a PREA/Toigo scholarship which is awarded to minority and women students. PREA applications are generally accepted in the spring.   • Society of Industrial and Office Realtors Mildred C. Hanson, Memorial Scholarship Award

    The Mildred C. (Millie) Hanson, SIOR Memorial Fund, which was established to honor and support women in commercial real estate, grants a $4,000 scholarship to an outstanding junior or senior undergraduate female student enrolled in an accredited real estate program at a college or university in the United States or Canada.   • Appraisal Institute Education Trust

    Appraisal Institute Education Trust offers an undergraduate ($1000), a graduate ($2000) and a diversity scholarship ($1000) for full time university students. The deadline for their application is generally in April. Please visit their website for additional information.
