Risk Institute Events
The Risk Institute's events and programs advance enterprise risk management knowledge and foster a dynamic network of risk management practitioners and leaders to share knowledge and best practices. These sessions enhance professional expertise and offer CPE credits, making them an invaluable resource for career development.
- Risk Series: Our longstanding speaker series focuses on emerging risks and key topics in enterprise risk management. Held throughout the academic year, these free events feature panels, fireside chats, hand-on trainings and case studies.
- Workstreams: These cohort-style sessions explore emerging risk topics and real-world examples. By collaborating with a diverse group of professionals, subject-matter experts and Fisher College of Business faculty, participants gain insight, skills and a network of peers from various industries who are interested in emerging risk issues.
- Executive Roundtables: Quarterly sessions provide a non-competitive space for Chief Risk Officers and other senior risk-focused leaders to discuss emerging risks and enterprise risk management best practices. These roundtables facilitate high-level discussions on issues that are top of mind for organizations across a wide range of industries. Where: Fisher College of Business, Mason Hall Rotunda (2nd Floor)
Join us for an engaging panel discussion featuring experts from various industries. This event will explore:
- The current landscape of AI as a transformative business tool.
- The potential risks associated with AI implementation.
- Strategies for leveraging AI’s benefits while maintaining a robust risk management framework.
Panelists include Jordan Adams, CPA, CIDA, CQF, AVP with Nationwide; Shannon Terry, chief advanced analytics officer with Nationwide and Angie Westover-Muñoz, program manager with Ohio State Moritz College of Law.
This fall we hosted two Workstreams.
AI Risk and Governance
Led by industry experts, AI Risk and Governance will take cohort participants through a hands-on and in-depth exploration of artificial intelligence as a business asset. Participants will:
- Be introduced to the current landscape and regulatory trends regarding AI.
- Explore successful AI governance model use cases.
- Learn how to identify and define the risks associated with AI.
- Take action on how to assess, manage, and develop solutions for AI use in your organization.
Third-Party Risk and Resilience
In today's increasingly interconnected world, understanding and mitigating third-party risks is a crucial role in any industry. Third-Party Risk and Resilience will provide participants with practical insights and strategies to effectively manage and mitigate risks associated with external partners and vendors. Participants will:
- Hear from a panel of experts on resiliency strategies.
- Review successful case studies to managing third-party risk and anticipating disruptions.
- Learn how to identify and define third-party risk within your company and industry.
- Assess, design and develop an approach to increase resiliency and better manage third-party risk within your organization.
