Legacy can be a funny thing: if you spend too much time trying to manufacture one, then that singular focus can become what you’re known for. Letting your decisions, your work and your priorities speak for themselves, however, can leave a quiet, powerful and indelible mark on others. It's something that Bill Troxil (BSBA ’75) has tried to do for his sons, Ryan and Will.

Each year approximately 1,000 Fisher students, faculty and staff unite in a day of service to bring positive change and lasting impact to the community in which we live, work and play. Fisher Impact Day is a collective expression of the power of servant leadership — an opportunity for the college community to showcase the passion, energy and engagement to not only do well, but to do good.

From sharing his story with Fisher students, to serving on the college’s Dean’s Advisory Council, to supporting graduate students through scholarships, Jesse Tyson’s (MBA '76) pride in his Ohio State roots is immense. Now, that legacy of engagement is a permanent part of the Fisher campus. Together with his wife, Cheryl, the family was recently honored for their generosity in the creation of the Cheryl and Jesse Tyson Diversity and Inclusion Suite.

Student Josh Wiseley avoided conflict and speaking up for himself upon his arrival at The Ohio State University. However, his experience with the Dean’s Leadership Academy through the Fisher Leadership Initiative helped him come out of his shell, discover self-confidence and embrace his ability to lead.

As part of the Accounting Careers Awareness and Preparation (ACAP) program, Douglas Burnett received a 360-degree view of accounting and business, as well as valuable personal, professional and career development skills. He was one of 41 high school students or recent graduates from across the state to participate in the 2019 ACAP-Ohio program at Fisher.

Fisher's Neethi Johnson (MBA '19) describes herself as an "Indian-born, Ireland-raised, proud American. ​​​​​​" She was also selected as one of Poets&Quants' 100 best & brightest MBAs of 2019. 

Austin Ward, a third-year finance major, is working to inspire his community by sharing the many experiences he’s had at Ohio State and leaving things better than they were when he found them.

Alexandria Graham, is “a sushi enthusiast, Ohio State Buckeye fanatic, secret computer nerd and ambitious perfectionist.” The MIS student is also a member of Poets&Quants for Undergrads' Best & Brightest Class of 2019.

Max Wasserman is a "proud Marine Corps veteran trying to become this generation’s Warren Buffett.” The finance student is also a member of Poets&Quants for Undergrads' Best & Brightest Class of 2019.

A year ago, when Austin Culbertson applied to join what was then a new enrichment program at Fisher College of Business, he did so not knowing if — or how — he was going to fit in as an incoming first-year student at Ohio State. But a mentoring relationship through the Fisher FIRST program helped him adjust to his new home.
