The purpose of the Student Scholar Program of the Ohio State Center for Real Estate is to create a community of highly talented students committed to pursuing leadership careers in the real estate industry and provide them with resources to help them accomplish their objectives.

    • Increased visibility for internship and full-time employment placement
    • Access to travel grants to support attendance at job fairs, trade conferences and Center’s events outside of Columbus (up to $500)
    • Special designation in annual resume book and profile on Center’s website
    • Attendance of exclusive Center events with high level real estate executives
  • Eligibility
    • Students entering into their sophomore, junior or senior year
    • GPA > 3.5
    • A 500-word statement about planned career/aspiration in real estate
    • Students from all colleges are welcome to apply; Students do not need to major or minor in real estate
  • Selection and renewal process

    Provided student meets eligibility requirements above, he/she would be invited to an interview with Center staff to determine their level of interest and the career paths they are most interested in. Students who pass the interview stage will be admitted for the current academic year.

    Membership in the Scholar Program has to be renewed annually based on students’ attendance record of real estate student clubs and Center events, their demonstrated interest in pursuing real estate careers and maintenance of GPA.

  • Requirements
    • 3 meetings a year with Center staff
    • Membership in real estate clubs of their respective colleges or the Fisher Real Estate Society (FRES)
    • Attendance of Center’s and student clubs events – 10 events a year
