Kay Smith
Background
Kay first started at Fisher in 2018 as a Program Coordinator before transitioning into a dual role as a Program Manager. She is a certified executive and organizational coach through the world-renowned Columbia University Certification Program. In her previous role at Fisher, Kay delivered experiential leadership development through coaching and facilitating leadership workshops on behalf of the Fisher Leadership Initiative (FLI) to internal stakeholders within Fisher and across the university, as well as through partnerships FLI established with external organizations. In addition, Kay served in a DEI Special Projects role under the leadership of the Assistant Dean and Chief Diversity Officer, Dr. Cynthia Turner. She worked cross-functionally to execute on the vision of Dr. Turner to support programming and events that allowed historically underserved populations within Fisher to thrive, both personally and professionally. As an extension of that work, Kay also played an active role within various committees at Fisher to support and advocate for staff, and to enhance the overall culture of the college. She is also a past recipient of the Coykendale Rising Star award (2019).
In her current role, Kay works with a variety of key partners to provide strategic oversight and the execution of the end-to-end student experience of Fisher's underserved populations. She seeks to come alongside students as they enter into Fisher, equip them with programs and resources as they navigate through their degree programs, and support them with community and connection as alumni.
