Fisher Leadership Initiative Academic Programs Manager; Manages the Dean's Leadership Academy

Jen Knox Shanahan leads the Dean's Leadership Academy (DLA) , a Leadership Certificate program, and teaches Personal Leadership and Team Effectiveness, a community-focused leadership course in which undergraduate students delivered leadership projects that have benefited partners including The Mid-Ohio Food Collective, Childhood League Center, The Ohio Environmental Council, TechCorps, Ronald McDonald House, NNEMAP Food Pantry, Huckleberry House, StarHouse, GEMS, NC4K, and Lifecare Alliance. Jen serves on the Executive Board as Past-President of ASFW+ and acts as the WIB Advisor at Ohio State's Fisher College of Business. She often hosts the Leadership Initiative Podcast and contributes to Lead Read Today. Jen is the recipient of Ohio Arts Council and Greater Columbus Arts Council grants as well as numerous awards for her writing.

Jen returned to Ohio in 2017. Before this, she taught creative writing and led a nonprofit initiative in San Antonio, Texas, called Writers in Communities, which connected professional writers with student groups in juvenile detention centers, migrant children's centers, and domestic violence shelters, among other destinations.
