Thien Nguyen joins the Department of Finance in 2014. He pursued his PhD course work at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania after earning a BA in mathematics and economics from the University of California, San Diego.

Nguyen’s research interests include asset pricing, macroeconomics, financial markets, public finance and financial regulations. His work has been published in Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial Economics and Journal of Monetary Economics. He has served as a PhD summer intern at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and a research associate at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

Nguyen is also the recipient of numerous fellowships and grants, including the Winkelman Fellowship and the Rodney L. White Center for Financial Research Grant at Wharton.
