Background

Hello, I'm Taira "Tai" Johnson, born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. I am a die-hard Buckeye Fan (O-H-I-O). I the Pre-Collegiate DEI Academic Outreach Program Specialist at The Ohio State University's Fisher College of Business. In this role, I have the privilege of managing impactful programs that serve underrepresented youth in Ohio by creating inclusive, educational, and transformative experiences, I am committed to nurturing their talents and supporting their dreams. 

              Prior to my current role, I served as a caseworker with Franklin County Children Services (FCCS) for five years and the National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP). This experience allowed me to develop a strong sense of empathy and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by marginalized individuals. Through my volunteer work with local churches, Delta Gems in collaboration with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Meals on Wheels, and March of Dimes, I have consistently sought avenues to make a positive impact in the lives of others, demonstrating my unwavering commitment to this cause. 

              I take great pride in connecting with diverse audiences and creating meaningful change. My expertise in program management, community outreach, and fostering inclusion has allowed me to build strong relationships and drive impactful outcomes. 

              I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to my work. I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) and a certificate in Public and Non-Profit Leadership. I’m pursuing a dual master's degree in City and Regional Planning and Public Administration & Leadership at Ohio State University. 

My academic background, combined with my passion for serving the community, has driven me to make a meaningful impact on students' lives. As a highly motivated and dedicated professional, I take great pride in my ability to make a difference every day, instilling confidence in my audience about my competence.
