Background

Jane Iversen is a PhD Candidate in Operations Management at Fisher College of Business. She earned an MBA in Global Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management and a Bachelor in Business Administration with a major in Finance from Florida International University. As part of her MBA program at Thunderbird, Jane undertook multiple international projects, including an initiative by the African Development Bank in Tunis, Tunisia, where she and two team members developed a business model for providing financial and non-financial support to local entrepreneurs as a tool for fighting unemployment.

Prior to joining the PhD program, Jane worked as a Senior Financial Analyst at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine's Department of Medicine, which consists of more than 20 medical specialties and over 500 faculty members. At UM, Jane worked closely with the Business Operations Group, where she developed an interest in designing processes and addressing challenges in healthcare. This experience led her to focus on Healthcare Operations in her dissertation research at Ohio State. Specifically, as part of her research, she is investigating the effects of adopting a novel, synchronous telemedicine mode—virtual visits—which allows real-time communication between patients and providers without being in the same physical location. Jane evaluates the effects of this adoption from both patients' and providers' perspectives, making a significant contribution to the growing body of Healthcare Operations research in telemedicine.

Jane is on the 2024-2025 academic job market!
