- Researching accounting concepts and standards underlying corporate and non-corporate financial statements including consideration of typical accounting problems. Prereq: BusMHR 2292. Prereq or concur: AcctMIS 3201.
- ACCTMIS 6201 - Professional Research in Accounting
- Research and communication skills in a professional accounting context; learn to use various accounting information resources; enhance communication and teamwork skills through collaborative exercises. Prereq: Enrollment in Master of Accounting Program. Not open to students with credit for 804.
- ACCTMIS 7202 - Advanced Professional Research in Accounting
- This course deals with advanced research issues in accounting, including applying professional research techniques to complex accounting arrangements and discussing insights for professional practice of academic accounting research. Specific topics will be updated periodically based on developments in accounting practice, standard setting, and academic research. Prereq or Concur: 6201, and enrollment in the MAcc program; or permission of instructor.
- ACCTMIS 3100H - Honors Research in Accounting
- Research and communication skills in an academic accounting context; the use of accounting information in capital markets; learn important empirical methods commonly used in accounting and finance literature; learn how the market efficiency hypothesis affects research and practice in finance, economics, and accounting; learn about the history and implementation of event studies. Prereq: Honors standing, a grade of B or better in 2200H, and Soph standing. Not open to students with credit for 4780H.
