Mia YuIn my first job, I was able to implement a lot of hard skills I learned at Fisher's SMF and used Macro to help the IT complete a complicated "Poison Pill Project". In my later career, the soft skills I learned at Fisher's SMF, especially the network skills and interview skills, helped me land the offers. In my MBA program at Booth, I also leveraged my financial skills to back up my teams' projects.

Brian PerryFisher's SMF program was a great cultural and educational experience. With the quality of the professors and resources, I was able to hone in on my finance and real estate skills early on, which gave me the confidence to interview and land the job I wanted in the city I targeted. I also enjoyed working on team projects. It makes a big difference when you know your teammates and their strengths/weaknesses when taking on challenging, but interesting subject matter. I truly enjoyed getting to know such a multicultural class. Some of my favorite memories in Columbus were the unofficial class dinners at an international restaurant of choice. Given my great experience and personal growth in such a short time, I have no regrets about choosing the program.

Travis MaddenWhile I work in a highly niche discipline of finance (governmental and not-for-profit sector banking), my Fisher SMF experience gave me a solid foundation in technical and quantitative analyses that prepared me to work in any financial discipline. The quality of the teamwork projects in the program far surpassed undergraduate team projects and prepared me for the simultaneously competitive and collaborative teamwork environment of Wall Street. The SMF program broadly gave me the tools to launch a career in finance.

Hector MillaMy journey with the SMF program, Fisher, and Ohio was truly rewarding and amazing. The SMF program has provided me opportunities to learn from top rated professors and to network with corporate executives. I met my current manager at a Fisher networking event, started working right after graduation, and have contributed to 100+ projects for the past two and half years. The SMF program at Fisher equipped me with skills and resources for a promising career. I am an extremely proud SMF alumni and BUCKEYE!

Terence MordiPrior to applying to the SMF program, I knew I wanted a career in risk management. This desire would not have become a reality without the help of the Fisher Career Center professionals, my professors, and mentors; who helped me navigate my way to a risk management career. They were incredibly supportive in helping me understand the career options in front of me as well as helping me identify my strengths and address my weaknesses. The most beautiful thing about Fisher and the SMF program is that within the time I was there, I felt at home within a short period. The program prepared me with the technical and soft skills to perform at a high level. It opened my eyes to various cultures and personalities, and most of all the opportunity to learn from my peers.

Yiqin GaoI can’t thank Ohio State's SMF program enough for helping me achieve my career goal - become a buy-side investment analyst. I found that SMF courses strike a great balance between imparting academic knowledge and career preparation. During the program I was introduced to several key tools or frameworks for analyzing and evaluating financial performance of US companies. In addition, I have improved my technical skills, including excel modeling and financial statement analysis, as well as soft skills such as public speaking and effective communication. Most importantly, with the help of the SMF faculty, I was able to build professional connections that helped the job search process. In all, I’ve had a great experience with the SMF program, and I wish all future students the best of luck in their career development.

Trey MorrishAs a recent graduate from a small school in Florida with a big dream of working in sell-side equity research, the Fisher SMF program undeniably changed the trajectory of my career for the better. The program provided me chances to fine-tune technical skills that I acquired in undergrad, while supplying me with professional skills that I lacked. Moreover, and most importantly, the professors at Fisher gave me the access to contacts that I needed to network my way into a sell-side research opportunity. I know that I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for Fisher.

Amy LeiFor me one of the most unique aspects of Fisher's SMF program are the capstone projects. These are assigned by top corporations according to real business needs they are experiencing within their industries. As a candidate this opportunity, along with access to corporate executives and tangible experience it entailed, was unparalleled. The fact that these businesses are trusting the SMF candidates to find solutions to their needs, confirms that the marketplace recognizes the outstanding quality of both the program and its candidates.

Amy LeiComing from Bangladesh, I had very limited practical experience of international financial markets before joining the Fisher SMF program. Providing exposure to a vast array of financial concepts and practices, the SMF program helped me develop an appreciation for the intricacies of international markets. The program taught me skills, such as financial modelling, and encouraged habits, such as being up-to-date with the news, that not only helped me crack interviews, but also lets me stand out of the crowd in my profession today.

Amy LeiFollowing an M&A internship, I chose the Fisher SMF program in order to pursue a permanent career in investment banking. The program provided general financial skills and a broad range of additional course options that allowed me to tailor my course load to fit my specific interest. I was able to take classes including M&A, Private Equity, Financial Restructuring, Financial Modeling, Corporate Finance and more. Additionally, school-sponsored opportunities allowed for exposure to the industry including trips to Wall Street and Silicon Valley to meet with investment banks, private equity firms, and venture capitalists. The combination of coursework and experience allowed me to hone my financial skills and industry knowledge and ultimately led to my acceptance of a placement in the banking industry.
