- Introduction to COIL Workshop: As part of a consortium of CIBER institutions led by Florida International University, Ohio State CIBER will be offering virtual workshops for faculty and staff to learn about Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL). This teaching method involves collaboration between faculty and students at an institution and faculty and students at an institution in another country using various forms of technology, such as video conferencing and discussion boards. Faculty and students are able to develop their global engagement skills while working on a collaborative project without the financial and logistical challenges often associated with international travel. This video from FIU provides a helpful overview of the COIL teaching method. Please contact Joyce Steffan (steffan.10@osu.edu) for more information. An additional workshop will be offered on October 20, 2023.
