The Leaders Summit 2020 is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to go on a journey of self-discovery and elevate your leadership skills.

Learn to lead and follow alongside one of the most influential leadership scholars in the world, Tim Judge, as you hike and climb one of the most spectacular natural wonders in the United States — Grand Teton National Park.

This nine-day summer experience, coupled with a course offered in spring 2020, will provide you with opportunities to forge skills in:

The Leaders Summit 2020 will take place August 12-20, 2020 and is supported by the Rosenfield Family Foundation. The program is eligible for funding from the Second-year Transformational Experience Program (STEP). No previous rock climbing experience is required to participate.



  • Academic

    The Leaders Summit is open to all undergraduate students at Ohio State who have an anticipated graduation date of August 2020 or later. 

    The three-credit-hour program will have 1.5 credit hours of classroom instruction and 1.5 credit hours of experience.

    Students must enroll in BUSMHR 4998 in Spring 2020 to participate in the experience. As credit for the experience, students must also enroll in BUSADM 2798. Credit earned as part of The Leaders Summit 2020 will count toward the Dean's Leadership Academy Certificate in Leadership.

  • Physical

    The Leaders Summit requires a baseline level of fitness. Various health and medical conditions may prevent students from participating. Applicants to the program are required to submit a fitness self-assessment and a medical record test upon acceptance.

  • Funding

    The Leaders Summit 2020 has a $750 program fee per student. Upon acceptance into the program, students are required to pay this fee by January 31, 2020 at 11:59pm. 

    The program fee for The Leaders Summit 2020 covers:

    • Hotel expenses
    • Food
    • Rock-climbing lessons
    • Professional rock-climbing guides
    • Rock-climbing equipment
    • Transportation from airport

    *Students are responsible for securing their own transportation to Jackson Hole, Wyoming.*

    This program is eligible to be funded for students enrolled in the Second-year Transformational Experience Program (STEP). Due to the required date for the program fee, STEP students will be reimbursed upon completion and approval of their program.
