Professional Expectations for QUIC-Certified Students
Congratulations on passing your QUIC Interview! You now have full access to Handshake opportunities and on-campus interviewing.
As a QUIC-certified student, you represent both yourself and the Fisher College of Business when interacting with employers. The following expectations help maintain strong relationships with recruiting partners and ensure continued opportunities for all students.
Professional Responsibilities
As you participate in recruiting activities, we expect you to:
- Maintain accurate and honest information on your Handshake profile, resume, and application materials.
- Schedule your interview promptly when selected for an interview opportunity.
- Attend all interviews and career-related commitments you have scheduled.
- Provide advance notice if an unexpected circumstance prevents you from attending an interview.
Before Applying and Interviewing
Professional job seekers take time to carefully evaluate opportunities before applying and interviewing. This includes:
- Reviewing the position description and qualifications thoroughly.
- Confirming your interest in the role before requesting or scheduling an interview.
- Completing all required steps in the employer's application process.
- Managing your schedule so you can fulfill interviewing commitments.
Professional Commitment to Employment Offers
Accepting a job or internship offer, whether verbally or in writing, is considered a professional commitment.
Before accepting an offer, take time to carefully evaluate the opportunity and consider your career goals. If you are uncertain about a decision or are weighing multiple opportunities, we encourage you to meet with an Office of Career Management consultant before making your final decision.
Making thoughtful decisions before accepting an offer demonstrates professionalism and helps maintain strong relationships between Fisher students and employers.

- Interview Skills Video Series - Contains advice from recruiters and career management, examples of answers, and critiques of the answers to common interview questions
- Career Guides/Job search engines – Beyond Handshake, there are career exploration resources like Vault Career Insider, and Occupational Outlook Handbook.
- Career Foundations Course - BA 2601 is an elective 1-credit hour course available for undergraduate students who need guidance in their internship & job search
- Visit a Peer Career Coach for Drop-In resume, cover letter, or LinkedIn profile assistance.
Students are eligible to receive FisherU (Suitable) points for becoming QUIC Certified. Visit FisherU and search for the Become QUIC Certified task.
