IBE Honors
Graduation Requirements

To graduate "with Honors" in Integrated Business & Engineering, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Earn an overall cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Complete 60 hours of graded coursework in residence at the Columbus campus.
  • Complete one of the following core coursework: 
    • IBE Traditional Track - Engineering Sciences Minor
      • Math 1152 or 1161.01 or 1172 or 1181H
      • Physics 1250, Physics 1200 AND 1201, or Chemistry 1210
      • Pick 1 course from:
        • ME 2040, MSE 2010, CSE 2221, ECE 2060, CBE 5761, FABE 3170, or ISE 5810 or CSE 1223*

          *CSE 1223 is an elective option for students who entered the University in Spring 2021 or earlier
    • IBE-Software Innovation Track - Computer Science Minor
      • Math 1151
      • BUSML: The Economics & Marketing of Software
      • BUSOBA: Introduction to Software Product Management & Innovation
      • BUSFIN: Emerging Software: FinTech, AI, ML
      • CSE 2122/23: Data Structures using C++/Java
        Students must have completed CSE 1223 to be eligible to complete CSE 2123. 
        ENGR 1281 & 1282 meet prerequisite requirements to enroll in CSE 2122
      • CSE 2321: Foundations I, Discrete Structures
      • CSE 3430: Overview of Computer Systems for Non-Majors
  •  The following IBE coursework: 
    • IBE Fundamentals of Engineering for Honors I & II (ENGR 1281.01H and 1282.01H),
    • IBE Business Simulation & Innovation Seminars (MHR 2400H & 3400H), and
    • IBE Capstone I & II (ENGR 5901.02H & 5902.02H or CSE 5719.02H and CSE 5719.02H)
  • Successful completion of 2 upper-division (4000-level) or honors courses (these can overlap with General Education requirements).
  • Successful completion of all additional coursework required for the BSBA degree.
