International Business Global Lab
Expand your global mindset with a dynamic two-week immersion in Barcelona, Spain in May. Step into an international classroom to learn International Business, expertly taught by CEA CAPA faculty and enhanced by an industry guest speaker and four corporate site visits. Throughout the program, you will experience authentic European living in a shared city apartment and receive a local transit pass to navigate the streets with ease. You will also dive headfirst into the vibrant local culture through a city bus tour, a hands-on Spanish cooking class, a Rumba workshop, and guided tours of iconic landmarks like the Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell. Best of all, you can travel with absolute peace of mind knowing you are fully backed by pre-departure guidance, an on-site arrival orientation, and comprehensive international health and safety insurance.

Class Enrollment: Summer, 4-week session 1
Academic Credit: For the Summer 2027 program only, students are eligible to receive transfer (K) credit for BUSMHR 2000 (International Business). Upon completion of the program and receipt of the official CEA CAPA transcript, students can coordinate with their academic advisor to have this credit officially processed.

As someone who has never traveled outside the country until this trip, I would recommend it 100%. I was scared at first but OSU was so helpful in preparing me for this journey. I met an amazing group of people that I still talk to this day. Barcelona opened me up to the idea of possibly working abroad or consider a job that travels frequently. I truly felt like after those two weeks I knew how to use the metro and bus systems, knew how to communicate with citizens, and honestly fit in. It was quite different then America, but having that first hand experience makes you truly see that their is so much more than what you think is ever possible.
In order to be eligible to apply for this program, students must have a cumulative 2.75 GPA and meet OIA's General Eligibility Requirements and Conditions for Participation.
Applicants must:
- Include an updated resume in their application
- Have completed Econ 2002.01 (201), and Econ 2001.01 (200) (prior to May 2027).
- Be enrolled as undergraduate student at Ohio State - this program is open to declared Business Majors on all campuses + declared International Business Minors
- Have no student record actions of "Warning," "Probation," or "Probation by Special Action"
All students will also be required to participate in on-campus pre-departure orientations organized by the Office of International Affairs.
Preference is given current 2nd and 3rd year students and students who have not already taken BUSMHR2000. Students graduating in May 2027 are ineligible.

- Ask clarifying questions: Email the program manager for inquiries not covered in the information session (contact information is listed at the bottom of the page).
- Review the "Finance" tab on the program brochure.
- Apply for scholarships: If you have a declared major in Fisher, you will be eligible for the Fisher Global Grant.
- Clear your schedule: If you are accepted into this program, you must be able to attend the required course (see the "Academics" tab on the brochure for course information).
- If you're an international student, review the FAQ's about studying abroad as an international student.
- Apply for the program! As you sit down to access the application, make sure you have:
- Your passport number. If you have not received your passport, or have not yet applied for one, you may still complete the online application, but remember that you may not participate in a study abroad program without a valid passport. Passports are taking up to 18 weeks, so please make sure you have ample time to apply for or renew an expired passport.
- Your Ohio State advising report, saved as a PDF to attach to the application.
- Names and contact information of the individuals you would like contacted in case of an emergency.
- A $150 application fee is required for all education abroad program applications. Should you choose to start an application, you will be notified to pay the application fee when it has been assigned as a material due. This application fee will be refunded only if you are not accepted to your study abroad program, if your program is canceled or if you withdraw your application prior to the application deadline.
