Fisher DEI Global Scholars Program

O-H-I-O on DEI program

Designed specifically for Fisher College of Business students that take part in Office of Diversity and Inclusion Student Services and Corporate and Community Outreach (ODISSCCO), including student organizations and Project THRIVE, OSU Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) programming, or students on the Undergraduate Fisher Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, this offering will give you a once-in-a-lifetime experiential learning opportunity to consult with micro-enterprises in Cape Town, South Africa. With the guidance of your faculty member and graduate student mentors, you will learn essential project management skills, navigate cultural practices and business etiquette, and lead a successful client engagement and business improvement initiative! You will also gain valuable intercultural communication skills as you immerse yourself in a totally new culture. Cultural programming includes a tour of the Hout Bay, the Good Hope Nature Reserve, Simons Town, a visit to the Penguin Colony, and an exploration of Table Mountain and Kirstenbosch Gardens.  Historical visits to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned, and the District Six Museum, a memorial to the forced movement of 60,000 inhabitants of various races in District Six during Apartheid, are also included.
