Experience global marketing first hand in Marketing Global Lab. As an MBA student participant, travel to Singapore for immersive experience with globally successful, multi-national companies in January 2016.
Up to five spots are available for 2nd year FT MBA students or WP MBA students who have completed the Marketing Management core class by Spring 2015. These students will earn 3 credits for completing the program, including mentoring an undergraduate student team.
Up to five spots are available for 1st year FT MBA students. These students will earn 1.5 credits for completing the program. (This does not include mentoring the undergraduate student teams.)

Program Overview
- Program Cost: $1850 + international airfare
- Up to five 2nd year FT MBAs and WP MBAs will be granted a subsidy on the program cost for mentoring an undergraduate student team.
- Cost INCLUDES: double occupancy hotel accommodations, transportation, all business visits, all cultural tours, international health insurance, all breakfasts and other select meals
- Cost EXCLUDES: international airfare, passport and visa fees, vaccinations, incidentals, and meals not arranged by university
- BUSML 7193: Global Marketing Lab (3 credits for 2nd year FT MBAs and WP MBAs; 1.5 credits for 1st year FT MBAs)
- Credits will be granted for 2016 Spring Semester Session One
- Travel to Singapore: January 1-10, 2016
- 2nd year FT MBA and WP MBA student participants will earn 3 semester credits for completing the program, including mentoring an undergraduate student team
- 1st year FT MBA student participants will earn 1.5 semester credits for completing the program
- A pre-departure workshop on Saturday, December 12, 2015 is required
- Once you have applied and been conditionally accepted to the program, the Office of Global Business will authorize your enrollment in this special course section.
- For the 3 credit component: 2nd year FT MBA students or WP MBA students who have completed the Marketing Management core class by Spring 2016
- For the 1.5 credit component: 1st year FT MBA student enrolled at The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business
- Travel to Singapore: January 1 – January 10, 2016
- 2015 BUSINESS VISITS: Undergraduate students in this class will work on group projects provided by multi-national companies, and make project presentations to marketing executives in those companies during the trip to Singapore. Last year projects were completed for DHL, L Brands, Mead Johnson and Wendy's. Participating MBA students will be expected to attend all visits and presentations, and participate in the Q&A.

STEP 1 PROGRAM APPLICATION
DEADLINE: September 27, 2015
Complete your program application. You will be asked to:
- Submit an updated resume.
- Submit a statement of purpose.
- Within two weeks of the application close, you will be notified of your acceptance and enrolled in the course by the Office of Global Business. You will also receive a travel documentation checklist via email to get you better prepared for travel. Please read this checklist carefully!
STEP 2 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT
DEADLINE: October 14, 2015
A nonrefundable deposit of $500 is due on October 14, 2015. This sum will be applied to the total program fee. Payment information will be outlined in your travel documentation checklist sent via email after your acceptance.
STEP 3. TRAVEL ORIENTATION MEETING and FINAL PAYMENT
DEADLINE: October 22, 2015, 5-6PM
At this mandatory meeting, you will be asked to submit all travel documentation requested on your travel documentation checklist (a scanned copy of your passport, a scanned copy of your student visa if required, a completed health form, proof of HTH Supplemental Travel Insurance, etc.). The Office of Global Business will review requirements for international airfare and facilitate roommate selection at this time.
You will also be required to pay the remaining program fee of $1350. You can pay by check or credit card at the meeting. Once paid, the total program fee is 100% non-refundable.
During the online application you will be asked to submit a resume. Make sure that you prepare an updated copy of your resume prior to starting your application.
During the online application you will be asked to submit a 1-2 page Statement of Purpose. Prepare a statement addressing the following questions in advance:
(1) Write about your interest in global marketing and how you would benefit from participating in this program.
(2) Summarize your opinion on why Singapore is an ideal business hub for Marketing Global Lab.
(3) For 2nd year FT MBA and WP MBA student participants who will serve as undergraduate team mentors, describe how you would benefit from leading a team of undergraduates and how you would be an effective leader to them.
Pre-Departure Information
NON-REFUNDABLE APPLICATION DEPOSIT
You are required to submit a non-refundable $500 application deposit by October 14, 2015.
Your non-refundable application deposit counts toward your overall program fees. The application deposit is strictly non-refundable.
FINAL PAYMENT
The final payment is required by October 22, 2015. You can pay by check or credit card at the travel orientation meeting. This final payment is 100% non-refundable.
- As an added precaution, U.S. citizens traveling abroad must enroll themselves in the U.S. Department of State Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). STEP allows U.S citizens to enter information about their upcoming trip abroad so that the U.S. Department of State can better assist them in an emergency.
- All students participating in study abroad programs offered through the Fisher College of Business are required to enroll in supplemental travel insurance. Students should download a copy of the insurance card and carry a copy with them at all times while traveling in-country.
- The Ohio State University supplemental travel insurance is provided through HTH Worldwide Services. This supplemental insurance includes a policy covering accident and sickness and for emergency assistance, evacuation and repatriation.
- As a participant in an FCOB short term program you are automatically enrolled in supplemental travel insurance, and do not need to enroll separately for supplemental travel insurance. More information can be found at the Office of International Affairs.
- In order to participate, international students must be able to obtain all required travel visas, confirm their eligibility to return to the U.S. after the program (i.e., a multiple entry visa) and possess a properly completed and signed I-20.
- All international students holding a US visa who are participating in an Office of Global Business (OGB) program and have questions about international travel should schedule an appointment with an Office of International Affairs (OIA) International Student Services advisor.
- The costs associated with applying for or renewing a passport are not included in the total price of the program.
- All students (international and domestic) must have passports valid at least six (6) months past the dates of travel. (September 21, 2016)
- If you are a U.S. citizen but do not currently have a passport, please apply for a passport immediately after receiving your acceptance letter. You must have applied for a passport at least three (3) months prior to departure (December 12, 2015) to allow time to process the required Brazilian visa.
If you are a US citizen, please see travel.state.gov for more information about applying for or renewing a passport.
- Please visit the Center for Disease Control website for suggested vaccinations and related health information for your travel plans.
- Vaccinations and medical advice regarding travel varies by individual and travel destination. These travel consultations and immunizations can be very expensive. Please consider this cost before applying, as they are not included in the program fee.
- United States citizens who are traveling to Brazil must have a visa. You or your proxy (including a visa service) must apply for the visa IN PERSON. There are no exceptions. Further information about applying for a visa can be found at the Consulate General of Brazil website.
- We recommend that you use OSU's visa service: Travisa
- As it may take some time to process a visa, please start the process as soon as possible. Ideally, students should submit their visa application no later than 60 days prior to departure (January 12, 2016).
- Visas for international students vary by student nationality. As it may take some time to process a visa and renew your F-1 visa (if necessary), please start the process as soon as possible. Ideally, students should submit their visa application no later than 60 days prior to departure (January 12, 2016).
- Given the itinerary organized by the Office of Global Business, participants of this trip will be considered a "tourist/visitor".
