The Leadership Initiative at Max M. Fisher College of Business is dedicated to developing the next generation of principled leaders that will have positive, lasting impact on organizations in our community and beyond. We provide curricular and co-curricular leadership development experiences to all 8,400+ undergraduates at Fisher to increase self-awareness of their leadership skills, increase confidence in their ability to lead, and increase their ability to lead and make decisions in accordance with their values.

Our Mission

Develop tomorrow's leaders through scaled and experiential learning.

Our Vision

To make positive, lasting impacts on our community and the world by equipping the next generation of principled leaders.

Founded in 2016 by Dean Anil Makhija and Dr. Timothy A. Judge (world #1 cited leadership scholar, 2017), our unit was tasked with elevating leadership as a core pillar of Max M. Fisher College of Business — increasing learning outcomes and scaling leadership development experiences to all Fisher students. To date, tens of thousands of students have participated in leadership assessments, courses, case competitions, workshops, and transformational experiences from the Leadership Initiative during their academic career.
