Description
The Management and Human Resources Department of the Fisher College of Business at the Ohio State University invites applications for a tenured faculty position in the field of Strategic Management at the rank of Professor or Associate Professor. Job responsibilities include conducting cutting-edge research and publishing it in top-tier peer‑reviewed academic journals, teaching in Strategic Management and/or Entrepreneurship, and providing service to the Department, the College, the University, and the field of Management.
Performance Objectives:
- Productivity in publishing high-quality cutting-edge research in top-tier peer‑reviewed academic journals.
- Excellence in teaching.
- Effectiveness in service to the Department, the College, the University, and the field of Management.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must have an earned doctorate (Ph.D., D.B.A., or equivalent) in strategy, management, economics, or closely related field from one of the top 400 institutions on U.S. News and World Report’s global ranking of “Best Universities for Economics and Business”: https://www.usnews.com/education/best-global-universities/economics-business
Applicants must also have a minimum of five years of experience in a tenured or tenure-track position at a business school that is accredited by either the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) or the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE).
Applicants must also have authored or coauthored a minimum of five (5) peer‑reviewed articles that have been published or accepted for publication in any of the following academic journals: Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Management Science, Organization Science, or Strategic Management Journal.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in teaching both Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship/Innovation/Technology Management, evidence of effectiveness in teaching, experience in supervising doctoral students, evidence of effective service to the academic field of management (e.g., editorships, editorial board memberships, or leadership roles in conferences or professional associations), and indicators of a high likelihood of being able to operate effectively in an intellectually diverse department whose breadth spans strategic management, entrepreneurship, international business, human resources, and organizational behavior.
