Business Course Transfer Credit Evaluations
If you have completed business courses at another institution and would like to have these courses evaluated for equivalency please complete the following steps.
- Once you complete the course at another institution you need to send a copy of your official transcript to The Ohio State University Registrars Office.
- Once the Registrars Office has processed your transfer credits they will appear on your transfer credit report. Please review your transfer credit report carefully. If they were accepted as direct equivalents you do not need to take any further action. If they were not accepted as direct equivalents they will appear as G000.## or S000.##.
- If G000.## or S000.## courses are business courses they can be submitted for a second evaluation through The Fisher College of Business. Complete the Transfer Credit Evaluation Request Form for courses you would like reviewed.
- You will receive an email in your OSU account with your results, if approved, equivalent courses will be posted in 1-2 weeks.
Commonly Asked Questions
-
What schools will The Fisher College of Business review credits from, and how many credits can be accepted?
The business program curriculum consists of core courses and courses from the selected specialization. There are restrictions limiting how much credit can be applied to core, specialization, and business minor courses.
In addition, while Fisher is a strong proponent of international study experiences, we will evaluate business courses completed only at our undergraduate exchange program partner institutions.
- A maximum of 3 semester hours of transfer credit may be accepted toward a student's specialization.
- A maximum of 10 semester hours of transfer credit may be accepted toward the required business core coursework. NOTE: Students attending a college or university in the state of Ohio: all courses that are part of the Transfer Assurance Guide (TAG) will be accepted.
- Transfer credit for core, specialization, and business minor coursework will be considered only if it was completed at a domestic AACSB accredited institution OR international institutions who are undergraduate exchange program partners with the Fisher College of Business.
- Business courses completed during the summer term or through a summer program at international institutions that are not Fisher undergraduate exchange partners will be considered for elective credit only.
-
Can I get a course evaluated before I take it?
If you are a current OSU student and you are thinking about taking a course at another institution you can have that course pre-evaluated. When you complete the Transfer Credit Evaluation Request you should select the pre-evaluation option.
You will recieve an email notificaiton with your results.
Once you have completed the course, and sent your official transcript to OSU, contact Trish Jefferson: jefferson.69@osu.edu for final processing.
-
How long will it take to receive my evaluation results and are there any deadlines?
We accept transfer credit evaluations through the entire semester, however, if you want to be sure your credits are reviewed before your next course scheduling window opens you need to submit your materials by the end of the 4th week of the current semester. Courses submitted by this deadline will be reviewed first.
After the fourth week of the semester, submissions are not guaranteed to be reviewed by your scheduling window for the following term.
-
Can I have credits evaluated if I am not a current OSU student?
Transfer credit evaluations will be completed for current Ohio State students and recently admitted students.
-
Where would I submit non-business transfer credits?
- For evaluation of non-business courses, please refer to the Departmental Credit Evaluator list.
