Background

Steve currently serves as a Portfolio Manager for the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) and he is a member of the Private Real Estate Team, which actively invests and manages an approximate $9.0 billion equity real estate portfolio.  Previously, he was the Portfolio Manager of an actively managed REIT portfolio at OPERS for 12 years.  Prior to joining OPERS, Steve was an officer with Chemical Mortgage Company, a subsidiary of the former Chemical Bank now part of JP Morgan/Chase, responsible for the asset management of one third of a $3.2 billion commercial mortgage servicing portfolio and a staff appraiser for a Midwest real estate appraisal firm.  Steve received his BA in Economics and Business Administration from Hanover College in 1986. He received his MBA with an emphasis in Finance from The Ohio State University 1991.  He is a CFA Charter Holder (2000) as well as CAIA Charter Holder (2010).  Steve has served on the Board of Directors of the CFA Society of Columbus from 2007-2013 and as its President in 2010-2011.  Steve is active with his national fraternity and currently serves on the Chapter Advisory Board (CAB) for Indiana Epsilon at Hanover College.  He previously served on the CAB for Ohio Iota at Denison University.   Steve has served on the faculty at the Phi Delta Theta Kleberg Emerging Leadership Institute (2015-2016), held each summer at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio
