Tyler (Ty) Shepfer
Background
Ty Shepfer is a Senior Lecturer of Management and Human Resources at the Max M. Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University. He also serves as the Director of the Honors Cohort Program and the Academic Director of the Master of Human Resource Management Program. He completed a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Master's degree in Labor and Human Resources at Ohio State. Prior to returning to Ohio State in 2015, Ty worked at Royal Dutch Shell holding various positions in Houston, Texas, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and most recently in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Ty teaches Business Environment and Skills, HR Strategy, Total Rewards, Labor Relations and two leadership courses. He also serves on Fisher College's Alumni Board and is an advisor to an undergraduate student organization.

- Introduce the role of business in the lives of individuals, consumers, employees, and citizens. Focus on the concept of ethical leadership with emphasis on both oral and written communication skills for the business environment. Prereq: English 1110.01 or equivalent; and admission to the Business Administration major. Not open to students with credit for 2291. Not open to pre-business students.

- Seminar on current business topics for students enrolled in the Business Administration Honors Programs. Topics may vary. Prereq: 3890H. Repeatable to a maximum of 6 cr hrs or 2 completions.
- BUSMHR 4998H - Honors Research
- Special topics research in management and human resources; research evaluated through papers, thesis, and/or special examinations. Prereq: Honors standing, and permission of instructor. Repeatable to a maximum of 12 cr hrs or 4 completions. This course is progress graded.
- BUSMHR 7704 - Contemporary Topics in HR & Professional Development
- Intended to be primarily discussion based & academically challenging. Increase problem solving & written/oral communication skills. Challenge students to think in ways they may have never thought before whilst the objectives are to further develop the student's critical thinking skills, grit, perseverance, resourcefulness, confidence, cognitive skills and the ability to collaborate and innovate. Prereq: Enrollment in MHRM program. Repeatable to a maximum of 3 cr hrs.
