Background

Isabella Kringlen1 is a Doctoral Candidate in Behavioral Marketing at the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University.  She is on the job market for the 2026/27 year.

Isabella's research focuses on how consumers interpret and respond to corporate behaviors and communications involving potentially controversial issues. She explores this through two streams: (1) political polarization in the marketplace and (2) consumer responses to sensitive disclosures in marketing communications.

Her job market paper is revising for third-round review at the Journal of Consumer Research. Her undergraduate research was published in the International Journal of Consumer Studies. Isabella's research has been presented at various marketing conferences, including Association for Consumer Research, Society for Consumer Psychology, and Society for Judgment and Decision Making. She has served as a trainee reviewer for the Journal of Consumer Research

Isabella earned a Master's degree in Marketing from Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University and Bachelor's degree in Marketing from Parker College of Business at Georgia Southern University. Her industry work includes leading consumer marketing for a publishing company and contracting social media marketing campaigns for major consumer brands.

Outside of research, Isabella is an avid sports fan and enjoys spending time outdoors, as well as trying new coffee shops and restaurants.

BUSML 4201 - Consumer Behavior

Examines how and why people behave as consumers. Its goals are to provide an understanding of consumer behavior and to provide experience in the application of this knowledge to marketing management and social policy decision making. Prereq: 3250, AcctMIS 2200, 2300, BusOBA 2320, and 2321; and BusMHR 2291 or 2292.
