Fisher Summer Series: The Digital Economy, Part 2 | August 8, 2018 | 9am - 12pm

The Risk Institute's summer sessions – co-hosted with three other Fisher and Ohio State centers – continue on Wednesday, Aug. 8, with “The Digital Economy: The Employee,” headlined by a featured keynote from Mark Muro, senior fellow and policy director for the Metropolitan Policy Program at Washington, D.C.-based think tank The Brookings Institution. Muro is the lead author of a major report released late last year, Digitalization and the American Workforce, that examines how technology is transforming the jobs we do – and the jobs we’re hiring for.

Muro will share insights from the report, which analyzed more than 500 occupations in the U.S. workforce to show how the level of digital skill required has changed over 15 years. What jobs and industries is this hitting the most? How is this playing out in major cities around Ohio? What policy implications does this have for the public sector – and how can the private sector play a role? Muro will touch on all of these and answer audience questions in a wide-ranging Q&A session.

Following the featured keynote, Muro will participate in a multi-industry discussion panel that also includes Cynthia Dungey, director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, and Erin Karabinus, executive director at JPMorgan Chase.

This session is free to employees of Risk Institute member companies – just enter discount code RiskSummer at checkout – and $45 for non-members and the general public.
