When the idea to offer a customized course focused on data and analytics at Nationwide popped up on Jodi Abbate’s radar, she had two questions: did Nationwide associates want such a course and, if so, who could deliver one? Abbate turned to some familiar faces at Fisher and worked with its Executive Education team, to create the Analytics in Action Seminar Series, a year-long, custom data and analytics workshop at Nationwide.

Some companies use interns for drudgery such as filing, copying and collating with a little meaningful work sprinkled in. How about using them to brainstorm solutions to high-level business challenges? The Risk Institute at Ohio State works with companies such as Worldpay, Discover and Abbott Nutrition connect them with MBA and specialized master's students to develop ways to combat risk.

If a significant aspect of a student’s career search is “who you know,” then Fisher is providing a number of innovative ways to connect tomorrow’s business professionals with potential employers.

From sharing his story with Fisher students, to serving on the college’s Dean’s Advisory Council, to supporting graduate students through scholarships, Jesse Tyson’s (MBA '76) pride in his Ohio State roots is immense. Now, that legacy of engagement is a permanent part of the Fisher campus. Together with his wife, Cheryl, the family was recently honored for their generosity in the creation of the Cheryl and Jesse Tyson Diversity and Inclusion Suite.

Student Josh Wiseley avoided conflict and speaking up for himself upon his arrival at The Ohio State University. However, his experience with the Dean’s Leadership Academy through the Fisher Leadership Initiative helped him come out of his shell, discover self-confidence and embrace his ability to lead.

Associate Professor of Operations Aravind Chandrasekaran and Fisher's Six Sigma offerings and were recognized as being noteworthy among other programs.

As part of the Ohio Export Internship Program, more than 40 students utilized their export-focused coursework to conduct research on overseas markets, create export compliance manuals and assist with sales and marketing plans. The 43 members of the OEIP Class of 2019 were recently recognized by Lt. Governor Jon Husted, along with Lydia Mihalik, director of the Ohio Development Services Agency. They were joined by representatives from Fisher, Cleveland State University Monte Ahuja College of Business and Youngstown State University Williamson College of Business.

Khalil Clements’ experience with The Ohio State University Center for Real Estate is just one example of the many ways the center is delivering on its mission to advance real estate through educational opportunities, academic research and outreach and partnerships with the real estate community.

As part of the Accounting Careers Awareness and Preparation (ACAP) program, Douglas Burnett received a 360-degree view of accounting and business, as well as valuable personal, professional and career development skills. He was one of 41 high school students or recent graduates from across the state to participate in the 2019 ACAP-Ohio program at Fisher.

Executive MBA student Lisa Wesolek is a self-described "woman proud of who she is, aspiring to use her creativity toward tomorrow.” She has been named a 2019 Best & Brightest Executive MBA by Poets&Quants. 

Executive MBA student Joshua Quantz describes himself as a “natural leader and protector; strong, yet compassionate; witty personality; curious, loyal, and trustworthy.” Those qualities helped Quantz land a spot of Poets&Quants' list of the 2019 Best & Brightest Executive MBAs.

Executive MBA student Trey Addison is "a resilient and resourceful business executive with a servant leadership mentality.” He's also one of Poets&Quants' 2019 Best & Brightest Executive MBAs.

Students in Fisher’s Master of Business Operational Excellence (MBOE) program are sharing their process-improvement insights to help the Mid-Ohio Foodbank better serve hungry families and individuals throughout central Ohio.

More than a dozen Fisher students are among the 150 individuals recently selected for a unique program that will help develop them into future leaders, all while helping the university celebrate its upcoming sesquicentennial. Scholarships were awarded to 150 students across the university for the 2019-20 academic year in honor of its upcoming sesquicentennial.
