Undergraduates

A ranking by a leading publication recently recognized Fisher’s strong commitment to providing undergraduate students with the curriculum, programs and opportunities that can positively impact their careers.

U.S. News & World Report’s 2018 survey of undergraduate business programs ranked Fisher tied for 15th out of nearly 500 overall universities, and tied for 7th among 343 U.S. public institutions.

“While rankings represent just one component of the strength and efficacy of our undergraduate program, we are extremely proud to be recognized as one of the top-10 public business institutions around the country,” said Anil K. Makhija, dean and John W. Berry, Sr. Chair in Business. “Our students continue to benefit from the incredible thought leadership of our world-class faculty, the commitment of our talented staff and the innovative programs and opportunities that are bringing business education to life.”

The publication also ranked Fisher’s undergraduate academic departments:

  • The Department of Accounting and Management Information Systems was 10th among all universities and 5th among public institutions.
  • The Department of Finance was 12th overall and 7th among publics.
  • The Department of Management and Human Resources was 14th overall and 7th among public universities.
  • The Department of Management Sciences was 10th overall and 7th among publics.
  • The Department of Marketing and Logistics was 21st overall and 10th among publics.

Several of Fisher’s specialty focuses were ranked:

  • Fisher’s supply chain offerings ranked 6th overall and 5th among publics.
  • The college’s Minor in Entrepreneurship was 22nd overall and 9th among public institutions.
  • The Minor in Business Analytics was 12th overall and 6th among publics.

“Providing undergraduate students with unique programs that build skills in areas that are critical to business today — such as entrepreneurship and data analytics — is just one way we’re strengthening the educational experience at Fisher,” Makhija said. “These positive rankings serve as mileposts as we instill in our students the principles, global perspective and entrepreneurial spirit to lead in business.”
