Fisher 100 Fest was a great way for students to celebrate being a part of the college’s 100th birthday. It was awesome to see so many students filling the common area of Mason Hall, waiting in line for food and t-shirts and socializing with their friends! The volume of students that filled the building was a true testament of how much all the students care for and love their Fisher experience.
I have had the incredible opportunity to serve on the Undergraduate Business Council during Fisher’s centennial year. Throughout my term, the council has worked diligently to be a part of sustainable projects and initiatives throughout the college, and it has been amazing to see how the students have responded. A prime example of this is Fisher Impact Day. We worked with faculty and staff for months to plan a day of service for the entire college. On the day of the event, we sent over 500 volunteers throughout the city to give back to those in need. It was so rewarding to see that students have had such a great Fisher experience, that they were willing to spend a day off to be a part of a new initiative. Being a part of Fisher Impact Day is one of the many reasons why I have loved my Fisher experience.
The best part of my experience—especially in this centennial year—is the perfect balance of building friendships, creating experiences and developing professionally that this college has provided me with. I have met many of my best friends through organizations and classes at Fisher. I have had the opportunity to be a part of Fisher-wide projects. And through Fisher Career Services and help from peers and professors, I have grown tremendously as a future business professional. Thanks to the opportunities Fisher has offered me, I was able to intern, co-op and have a job secured for post-graduation.
My four years at Fisher have been so memorable. It is crazy to think about how much Fisher has changed over these 100 years. Just in my short time here, I have witnessed so much change, including the application of technology, collaboration among organizations and impactful student-professor relationships.
I will soon be an alumnus of Fisher College of Business, and that is truly bittersweet. I am excited to begin the next chapter of my life and to use what I have learned here in the professional world, but I am incredibly sad, but grateful, for everything Fisher has done for me during my journey through college.
Thank you Fisher College of Business! Happy birthday!
