Four recent graduates of Fisher's MBA program were highlighted for their achievements in and out of the classroom in a pair of lists compiled by Poets & Quants.

John Petersen and Sarah Sublett were named to the publications' list of 50 of the best and brightest MBA graduates of 2016 for their demonstrated leadership, academic excellence and personal qualities and contributions that resulted in impact as part of Fisher's collaboratively competitive MBA program.

Christian Medeiros and Coralia Nunez were selected by Poets & Quants as part of its MBAs to Watch list.

"Fisher’s intentionally small, intimate Full Time MBA program punches above its weight in reputation nationally," said Shashi Matta, director of the Full Time and Working Professional MBA Programs at Fisher. "All four of our nominations to Poets & Quants’ list of outstanding MBAs from the Class of 2016 captured spots alongside candidates from other top-ranked MBA programs nationally and internationally.

"Sarah, John, Christian and Coralia represent the excellence of our MBA programs and the unmatched opportunities at Fisher."

Sarah Sublett

Sarah Sublett

"Here’s a challenge to anyone—however tough and hard-shelled you may be—you won’t stand a chance when confronted with Sarah’s natural charm. 'Down-to-earth,' 'great to work with,' 'the girl-next-door,' 'sincere and hardworking,' and 'a natural' are some commonly used terms to describe Sarah by her peers and professors.

"You definitely want Sarah on your team—she delivers, works collaboratively, makes it look so very easy, is always reliable, and is supremely charming."

John Petersen

John Petersen

"John, a veteran returning to pursue his MBA at Fisher, not only found his passion during the MBA program, but pursued it relentlessly and successfully. Military tough, with a heart of gold, John thrived during Fisher’s Global Applied Project (GAP) in Kenya.

"He is unafraid and always ready to tackle complex problems. I am immensely proud of our veterans in the MBA program at Fisher, and John is a poster child for what our veterans are capable of—bravely working on important problems that others find daunting.”

Christian Medeiros

Christian Medeiros

"Disillusioned by his career in investment banking on Wall Street, Christian took a year off to travel the world and ponder his next career move. He decided on an MBA and applied to Fisher.

"What followed was a process of self-discovery and the realization that he enjoyed marketing. I saw that process unfold in front of my eyes when I taught the core class in marketing and noticed how passionate he was about the subject. ”

Coralia Nunez

Coralia Nunez

"Coralia is someone you would describe as an AND candidate — she has great technical skills and great people skills; she is tremendously intelligent and tremendously hard-working; she is super-efficient and super likeable; she is extremely analytical and extremely persuasive; and she has a terrific mind and a terrific heart.

"It’s easy to see why she is the best among equals in any setting. A Latina from Honduras, who is equally at ease leading her team at a for-profit and making a meaningful impact for a nonprofit, Coralia is a striking example of the new face of leadership.”
