Fisher’s award-winning Office of Career Management hosted its annual Fisher Spring Internship and Job Fair on Februrary 2. The event, one of the college’s signature recruiting events, was held at The Ohio Union.

“This event was a wonderful opportunity for our students to connect with representatives from more than 140 companies and organizations around the country,” said Jeff Rice, executive director of the Office of Career Management. “Events such as the Spring Internship and Job Fair are great examples of how our office continues to work toward differentiating Fisher and its students through great internships and satisfying post-graduate career positions.”

"Getting all of these great companies in one spot is a fantastic opportunity for recruiters to see what Fisher and Ohio State have to offer, and we get to see what the companies have to offer," said Benjamin Zake, a fifth-year logistics management student minoring in engineering. "I'm looking for an internship, and with more than 100 companies here, there really are unlimited ways I can find one."

For accounting student Janhvi Patel, the Spring Internship and Job Fair provided an opportunity to hone her networking and interviewing skills.

"I wanted to get some experience under my belt before I get out into the real world," she said. "If I had to look for an internship by myself, I would not know where to begin. So getting the chance to go to a career fair like this where all of these great employers are in one place definitely helps me know what's out there."

The Office of Career Management will also host the Fisher Spring Connection Conference in March. The conference, which provides an opportunity for current graduate students to network with alumni and friends, is just one of the ways Fisher’s Office of Career Management is serving graduate students.

Its Graduate Career Management team was awarded the 2015 Innovation Award by the MBA Career Services & Employer Alliance (MBA CSEA), which recognizes individuals, teams, departments or organizations that have developed a significant innovation that has benefitted students, a career center, talent acquisition team or the MBA CSEA.

Fisher’s team was honored for its efforts to reshape the traditional on-boarding process by creating a comprehensive career preparation program using best practices, online course management technology and instructional design concepts.

“This award and our recruiting events demonstrate the commitment we have to three key aspects of our office’s mission statement: providing highly personalized services; developing the best prepared job seekers; and being every employer’s favorite place to recruit,” Rice said. “We are determined to continue to elevate and enhance the college’s reputation as a destination for corporate recruiters.”
