KeyBank has been a dedicated partner of the Max M. Fisher College of Business in helping to foster the college’s efforts to enrich the lives of minority students and promote the benefits of diversity, on campus and within the business community.

KeyBank logoKeyBank’s ongoing generous support predates the start of the But for Ohio State Campaign. It’s a strong relationship that has allowed Fisher to establish and sustain two nationally recognized annual events: the KeyBank Minority MBA Case Competition, and the KeyBank Leadership and Creativity Undergraduate Student Symposium.

Both events encourage competition and provide opportunities for minority students to gain invaluable experience while learning from executives from KeyBank, a financial services firm based in Cleveland.

KeyBank Minority MBA Case Competition
The KeyBank Minority MBA Case Competition is an annual event directed and administered by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion Student Services and Corporate and Community Outreach (ODISSCCO) at Fisher College of Business. The event allows competing teams to hone their business acumen and team-building skills while learning from KeyBank executives.

The competition involves 16 to 25 teams each year from leading universities around the country and is one of the nation’s most recognized minority MBA student case competitions. Since it began in 2005, more than 700 MBA and business students representing 66 selected universities have participated in the event.

KeyBank Leadership and Creativity Undergraduate Student Symposium
Another benefit of KeyBank’s continued generosity and commitment to diversity is the KeyBank Leadership and Creativity Undergraduate Student Symposium. The symposium began in October 2008 and is presented by Fisher.

The intent of the symposium is to provide students opportunities to learn critical skills that are needed in today’s dynamic business environment. In total, 348 students representing 63 universities have participated in the symposium. The eighth event was held most recently in October 2015.

“KeyBank is proud of our ongoing support of The Ohio State University Max M. Fisher College of Business,” said Margot James Copeland, executive vice president and CEO of KeyBank Foundation. “Through programs such as the Minority MBA Case Competition and the Leadership and Creativity Undergraduate Student Symposium, KeyBank partners with Fisher to prepare students for work in the business sector. We genuinely hope these experiences will provide students with greater confidence when the time comes to enter the workforce.”

“For over a decade, both the case competition and the symposium have become important flagship events for the Office of Diversity and Inclusion Student Services, and they attract business schools from across the country,” said David Harrison, senior director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion Student Services. “We are pleased to work with KeyBank, a company that continually demonstrates its commitment to education and diversity programs through its support of many activities in the community, as well as at Fisher.”
