Fisher 100 Fest: An opportunity to reconnect

Even a little rain couldn’t ruin the festivities and celebration at Fisher 100 Fest. While I’m sure everyone wished for better weather, the students, faculty and staff that filled the Mason Hall Rotunda symbolized Fisher’s tight knit community.
Throughout the two-hour celebration, members of the Fisher community were given the opportunity to take part in numerous activities such as making a mark on history by signing a Fisher 100 banner, writing a thank you note to Fisher donors or providing suggestions to put into the Fisher 100 time capsule. I made sure to take part in the festivities by snagging a Fisher 100 T-Shirt and some free Graeter’s ice cream as well!
As a member of Fisher College of Business, this truly was an event worth every second. One of my favorite aspects of Fisher is its ability to connect its members together—regardless of their career aspirations—to form lifelong connections. The activities and giveaways at Fisher 100 Fest were fun, but the greatest value of this event was in bringing the entire Fisher community together. I caught up with classmates that I had not seen since my freshmen year, reconnected with future Procter & Gamble coworkers, and watched faculty members use selfie sticks and fake mustaches to capture the perfect moment.
Just like so many others, Fisher has given me all the tools to achieve my career goals. Everybody at Fisher 100 Fest is on a different career path with their own unique goals and aspirations. Throughout this centennial celebration, however, events like this one have brought all of us together and reminded us that Fisher has connected us with like-minded, driven professionals that will stretch and support us in the pursuit of our goals. With the excitement, unity and pride throughout this centennial year, it is hard not to get excited about how much Fisher College of Business will continue to grow in its next 100 years.
Fisher 100 Fest was just the latest event in the college’s yearlong centennial celebration, and what better way to celebrate than by gathering together for a group photo? At 12:15 p.m., as if on cue, the rain stopped and students, faculty and staff stood united in the shape of the number 100 in front of Fisher Hall to take a historic photo to celebrate a historic time at Fisher College of Business!
