Finance Consulting Practicum

In the final semester of this two-semester program, the Finance Consulting Practicum will offer you unparalleled real-world experience with some of the country’s most well-known companies. The task: to help create solutions for actual business needs

How Does It Work?

Participating organizations will submit project descriptions crafted specifically for SMF teams. Each project will require recommendations related to an actual business scenario. Fisher faculty will select teams based on student preferences, student academic and work performance, and the need for diverse perspectives on the team.

The SMF faculty will assign the projects to student teams and the team’s deliverables will be due to the organization by the end of the semester. Deliverables can be anything the organizations request – from financial models to research documents. Upon selection, students are ready to go – leveraging valuable knowledge gained from SMF courses in corporate finance, investments, data analysis, financial modeling, and risk management. The teams will also have access to an organizational liaison to make sure the work is “on the right track.”
