Your Path to a Career in STEM

The expanding fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) continually need talented and educated professionals. Ohio State prepares students to become highly-trained and diverse professionals through access to outstanding faculty and state-of-the-art facilities, unique research opportunities, collaboration with nearby businesses, and programs to encourage members of underrepresented groups to pursue STEM careers.

Through its nature as an interdisciplinary, engineering-rich program, the Master of Business Logistics Engineering (MBLE) program qualifies as a STEM initiative.

On March 11, 2016, the Department of Homeland Security published a final rule allowing certain F-1 students who receive STEM-based degrees, and who meet other specified requirements, to apply for a 24-month extension of their post-completion OPT. The 24-month extension will replace the 17-month STEM OPT extension previously available to STEM students (see 73 FR 18944). Eligible students may now apply for a 24-month STEM OPT extension.
