Leadership Development
Principled leaders who make a positive difference with lasting impact.
Max M. Fisher was a model for those who are committed to making a positive difference in the world around them. It is this guiding principle combined with our rich heritage in leadership education that drives our goal to create transformative experiences that enable Fisher MBA's to become principled leaders who confidently make a positive difference with lasting impact in their organizations, their communities, and the world.
Fisher's unified partnerships with best-in-class thought leaders, scholars, business and community leaders, organizations, and our accomplished alumni strengthen our ability to help each Fisher MBA shape and broaden their scope of leadership and hone their style.
Dedication to Leadership
Highlighting a dedication to the critical study of leadership, Fisher recently welcomed Dr. Timothy A. Judge to serve as the first holder of the Joseph A. Alutto Chair in Leadership Effectiveness.
“I am thrilled and honored to be selected as the inaugural Alutto Chair in Leadership Effectiveness,” Judge said. “I very much look forward to working with Dean Makhija, Dr. Alutto and my colleagues in the Department of Management and Human Resources to build on Fisher's legacy as the center for thinking and practice in the area of leadership.”
Dr. Judge brings with him a wealth of experience across a number of management areas and a dedication to the study of leadership that is unsurpassed.
Fisher Leadership Programs
First Year MBA Experience
Principled leaders require strong individual self-awareness, ethical decision-making abilities, and critical leadership competencies to be effective and create lasting impact. In addition, today’s team-based business practices demand that leaders collaborate and work collectively toward common goals.
Occurring both inside and outside the classroom, the first year MBA leadership development experience is designed to provide you with a foundation that allows for continued growth throughout your time at Fisher and beyond through three primary development channels: individual development, academics, and experiential learning.
Individual self-awareness is the key to determining how you will begin your leadership development journey at Fisher. Starting right away during MBA Pre-term and throughout the first year of the program, our team of world class faculty made up of scholars and practitioners guide you through the process of self discovery and accompanying personal development planning.
