Keynote Speaker: Jake Diebler, Ohio State Men's Basketball Head Coach
Friday, August 30, 2024, The Blackwell Inn
Jake Diebler was named the program's 15th head coach on March 17, 2024.
He was a video coordinator with the program from 2014-16 and then returned as an assistant coach prior to the 2019-20 season. He was promoted to associated head coach before the 2021-22 season and also served as their interim head coach this past season. Diebler led the Buckeyes to an 8-3 record in his time as the interim and full-time head coach, including a win over No. 2 Purdue and a quarterfinal appearance in the NIT.
The first Ohioan to be named Ohio State’s head coach in 35 years, Diebler still holds the all-time Ohio high school career records in both assists (835) and steals (578). He then went on to play four seasons at Valparaiso where he earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing in May 2009 and an MBA in 2011. He began his coaching career at Valparaiso from 2010-13 and then also spent three years as an assistant coach at Vanderbilt from 2016-19. He and his wife, the former Jordyn Ellwood, from Columbus and an Ohio State graduate, have two young daughters, Jaymes and Jessa and a young son, Jackson. They are expecting a fourth child this July.
