The Risk Institute is an advocate for students interested in the risk industry. We offer students the ability to get more involved by volunteering for events, advertising scholarships, and promoting student organizations.

Gamma Iota Sigma (GIS) Alpha Chapter
Gamma Iota Sigma was founded at The Ohio State University in 1966. GIS is a professional business fraternity that specifically focuses on Insurance, Finance, Risk Management, and Actuarial Science. We meet weekly at Chapter, host industry speakers, attend professional workshops, volunteer in Columbus, bond at social events, assist The Ohio State University Risk Institute, and attend Gamma Iota Sigma Grand Chapter events.

Risk Management Association (RMA)
If you are a full-time student enrolled in a major related to banking, business, management, administration, finance, economics, or accounting, the Risk Management Association offers free membership for students who want to position yourself as a strong candidate for a career in the financial services industry. There is a local chapter in Columbus that is engaged with The Risk Institute. Be sure to check out the Risk Management Association Student Resource Center for information on joining and other scholarships and resources.
Risk Management Society (RIMS)
Gain access to the membership and resources of one of the world's largest risk management professional associations. Membership is $25 per year and offers risk students opportunities to build relationships, find jobs, connect with the industry and supplement their education.
