Fisher Emerging Consultants (FEC) is a selective program/class for sophomores and juniors interested in working in the field of consulting. Students selected for FEC work with select career management staff to develop a consulting focused job search strategy plan and receive personalized coaching.

Fisher Emerging Consultants is designed to complement student involvement in the Fisher consulting based student organizations including Students Consulting for Nonprofit Organizations (SCNO) and Buckeye Undergraduate Consulting Club (BUCC), which host consulting firms at their meetings and/or offer opportunities for students to complete consulting projects. In addition, Fisher Emerging Consultants targets sophomores and students are encouraged to consider applying for the Consulting Industry Cluster during their junior year.
If you are accepted into Fisher Emerging Consultants, you will:
- Identify steps to take in a consulting internship or job search
- Apply consulting interview techniques
- Demonstrate professionalism in presentation, networking, and business communications
Requirements:
- You must be admitted as a Business Major by Spring 2023. Students from other colleges are welcome to apply, although business majors will be given priority in the selection process
- You must have at least a 3.40 cumulative GPA
- You must be available to enroll in the Fisher Emerging Consultants section of BA2601, which will meet during the first session of the spring semester on Wednesdays and Fridays between 8:55 am – 10:05 am
- You must be planning to graduate between December 2024 – August 2026

Step 1 – Apply
The Fisher Emerging Consultants Application for Spring 2025 will become available in October 2024.
Step 2 – Interview
Those selected to interview for the program will be notified the week of October 23, 2023. At that time, they will receive information about the interview process. Interviews will take place in early November and selections for FEC will be made by mid-November.

First Year through Third Year Ohio State Students (Any Major): Consulting Academy
The Consulting Academy is a semester-long program which helps expose OSU students to the world of consulting. Learn what consulting is, why it is a great job to pursue, and how to land a career in the field. The program is open to students of any major graduating after Spring 2023. This program does not require an application to join. Weekly meetings begin Wednesday, February 1st from 8 - 9 pm in Schoenbaum 330 or on Zoom (go.osu.edu/CAZoom2023).
