Fisher Emerging Consultants (FEC) is a selective program/class for sophomores and juniors interested in working in the field of consulting. Students selected for FEC work with select career management staff to develop a consulting focused job search strategy plan and receive personalized coaching while networking with top consulting firms.

Additional Consulting Resources at Fisher

Fisher Emerging Consultants is designed to complement student involvement in the Fisher consulting-based student organizations including Students Consulting for Nonprofit Organizations (SCNO) and Buckeye Undergraduate Consulting Club (BUCC), which host consulting firms at their meetings and/or offer opportunities for students to complete consulting projects. 

Fisher Emerging Consultants is ideal for sophomores, as many consulting firms are interviewing and selecting candidates for the junior year internship to the sophomore year late spring to early fall before the start of the junior year (much like students recruiting for investment banking and competitive rotational programs). We encourage student to apply for consulting clubs as early as Freshman year. Participate in the Consulting Pathway and FEC their sophomore year and consider applying for the Consulting Industry Immersion program during their junior year. 

If you are accepted into Fisher Emerging Consultants, you will:

  • Identify steps to take in a consulting internship or job search
  • Apply consulting interview techniques
  • Demonstrate professionalism in presentation, networking, and business communications

 

Requirements:

  • You must be admitted as a Business Major by Spring 2027.  Students from other colleges are welcome to apply, although business majors will be given priority in the selection process
  • You must have at least a 3.40 cumulative GPA
  • You must be available to attend the Fisher Emerging Consultants class, which will meet during the first session of the spring semester on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:50-2:45 pm
  • You must be planning to graduate between December 2027 – August 2029

Consulting Pathway Program

Introducing the CONSULTING PATHWAY for Fisher Students, offered by the Fisher Office of Career Management

What it is: Consulting Pathway is a 3-part program that introduces students to the career field of Management Consulting. The program will cover what consulting is, why you might want to pursue it, and how to prepare for it.
When: Monday evenings from 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm starting on Monday, September 21st, 2026, weekly through Monday, October 5, 2026.
Where: Schoenbaum Hall, Room 220
Who: Open to all Fisher Students, especially Freshmen and Sophomores.
