They should show a strong commitment to enhancing student engagement, leadership development and inclusive excellence.

2025 Individual Award Nominees
Dr. Mark Caner is President of W&S Financial Group Distributors, Inc., which is a business within Western & Southern Financial Group. With more than 35 years of expertise in the financial services industry, Mark is responsible for leading their sales channels, marketing, product development, relationship management and sales support. He received a business degree in Finance from The Ohio State University, an MBA from Capital University and his doctorate degree in Strategic Leadership from Regent University. Mark is a member of The Salvation Army’s National Advisory Board and the Financial Advisory Board for The Ohio State University's Fisher College of Business. He has also achieved the Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Financial Consultant, Chartered Life Underwriter and Accredited Estate Planner financial industry designations. In his personal time, Mark enjoys spending time with his family, playing competitive tennis, teaching financial management at his church and is an avid Ohio State sports fan.
Courtney Clark is a trusted business advisor to her clients on state and local tax matters. She is Deloitte’s Multistate Tax Services Practice Leader for the Cleveland and Columbus marketplaces. In her state and local practice, Courtney integrates her unique federal taxation background to assist clients in finding state taxation solutions. She focuses on the interplay of federal and state nuances, such as identifying organizational chart structural enhancements, state-only deductions and other planning opportunities. She brings the full breadth to multistate tax considerations, including indirect and credits/incentives, to her clients. Courtney has served both public and privately held real estate industry companies headquartered across the country for over 22 years. She has experience on REIT-specific nuances of state and local tax laws. She has been published twice in the Journal of Real Estate Taxation. Courtney is a Certified Public Accountant. Courtney attended The Ohio State University, where she received her BSBA in Accounting. She completed her Masters of Taxation degree from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. She has presented at the MEGA Tax Conference, the Hartman Tax Conference, the Ohio Tax Conference, the Florida Bar/ Deloitte’s Multistate Tax Symposium, and at NAREIT’s REITWise conference as part of the State & Local Tax Subcommittee. Courtney is Deloitte’s Lead University Partner for The Ohio State University, which includes recruiting and philanthropic efforts. She is the Board of Directors Chair Elect of The Ohio Society of CPAs and is a member of The Ohio State University's Accounting Department Advisory Board.
As the Vice President of Research at Honda Research Institute (HRI) USA, Duane Detwiler is part of the leadership team working to achieve the organization’s mission, to Innovate through Science. Duane directs the institute's operations in Ohio that include 99P Labs. 99P is an agile research group bridging scientific advances and technology innovations with the evolving needs of customers and markets to realize sustainable mobility futures.
Duane's technical career at Honda has focused on research, development, and application of physics-based modeling, simulation, and optimization methods for vehicle design and development earning him multiple patents. Duane obtained a B.S. 1991 and M.S. 1993 in Aerospace Engineering from The Ohio State University, and he has co-authored dozens of technical papers through his collaborations with research partners.
James "Rich" Lawrence has been with Bank of America, Practice Solution for 25 years. He was a salesperson for 5 ½ and in 2005 co-founded the Project Consulting TEAM. He managed that TEAM for 16 years. His current role is a Strategy Execution Lead II for the Sales Performance TEAM. Role and Responsibilities: On Campus Outreach and Recruiting/Educating; Management Consultant for Operations TEAM; Lead Volunteerism initiatives in the Ohio Market; Lead Employee Engagement and Inclusion for the activities for the Line of Business; Co-Chair for LEAD for women; Mentor Bank Associates and College/High School Students; Board Member for "The Center for Healthy Families."
Jordan Sibley is a newly promoted Control Manager at JPMorgan Chase on the Consumer & Community Bank's Shared Services Team after spending the last three years as a Global DEI Officer on the Advancing Black Pathways Team. In her recent role, Jordan supported the four pillars of Advancing Black Pathways: Community Development & Sponsorships, Financial Health & Wealth Creation, Small Business Growth and Entrepreneurship and Careers & Skills. She spearheaded the junior talent strategy for Black employees, she was a program manager for the Advancing Black Pathways and Advancing Hispanics & Latinos Fellowship Program for college sophomores and supported the company's commitment to HBCUs that focused broadly on student development and to execute on the commitment, she delivered to the students and staff soft skills training on topics such ‘Building Your Brand and Resumes’, ‘Preparing for Interviews and Careers’ after graduation, as well as introductions to Financial Health. In addition, she helped project lead various Community Development activations such as the Advancing Black Wealth Tour in Oakland, CA and community branch openings in Atlanta (Summerhill), GA. Jordan also helped manage the relationships and partnerships with diverse organizations that drove the company’s inclusive hiring strategy – such as the NABA (National Association of Black Accountants), NBMBAA (National Black MBA Association) and HSF (Hispanic Scholarship Fund). Jordan will be celebrating her five-year anniversary at JPMC in August of this year – she joined the company in the summer of 2019 as an intern and started her full-time career in the summer of 2020 in the Chase Leadership Development Program (CLDP) as an Analyst. In the program, she worked on the Marketing Controls Oversight Team in the Consumer Bank, the Data & Analytics Customer Data Delivery Team and her final rotation and transition out of the program was on the Advancing Black Pathways Team. Jordan is an ODI scholar – she was in the Young Scholars Program (YSP) as a student and served as an Academic Success Partner for the freshman class of scholars and as a Peer Success Leader for the summer programming. To continue to it pay-it forward, she sits on the board of the Young Scholars Program (YSPAS) Alumni Society and frequently visits campus to support various student activations, similar to the efforts done at HBCUs. Jordan graduated Magna Cum Laude in May of 2020 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business and is currently studying to receive her Master's in Business Administration from Wilmington University. She is an Ohio native, growing up in Akron and currently resides here in Columbus, Ohio.
Darren Srebnick was recently appointed as the International Trade Compliance Manager for Sensience which is a global manufacturer of highly engineered sensing, control and sealing components. He is responsible for managing the company’s compliance with all international trade regulations.
Previous to Sensience, Darren was the Director of the US Commercial Service office in Columbus, where he supported the export development of companies in Central Ohio by providing customized consulting and matchmaking services through the US Commercial Service’s global network.
Darren came to the US Commercial Service after working as the Chief Trade Officer for World Trade Center Kentucky (WTC-KY). As the manager of the Center’s trade advisory services, he provided timely and relevant international trade consulting to a wide variety of business clients. In addition, Darren managed all training and educational programs provided by the Center.
Previous to WTC-KY, he served as the International Trade Compliance Manager for ISCO Industries, Inc. where he was responsible for managing ISCO's international trade compliance program and developing procedures for the efficient and cost-effective movement of products and equipment around the world. During his tenure with ISCO, he managed the establishment of ISCO Industries, Inc. – Abu Dhabi. He spent approximately one year in Abu Dhabi where he managed the personnel and equipment logistics for a major construction project.
He is a licensed US Customs broker and a Certified International Credit Professional. Darren majored in Japanese studies with a concentration in Japanese language at Connecticut College in New London, Connecticut. He studied abroad for one year at Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan and upon graduation completed a three-year contract as a translator for the Japanese government in Hiroshima, Japan.

- Support can include financial contributions, mentorship, training, resources or in-kind services.
- Nominees should have a track record of fostering student growth, inclusion and professional development.
- Current Fisher College of Business students, faculty and staff are not eligible for this award.
