Living-Learning Communities
Living-Learning Communities bring together students who share common academic interests, goals or experiences, creating opportunities to connect and learn beyond the classroom. By living alongside peers with similar interests, students can build relationships, engage with faculty and staff, and take part in programs and experiences connected to their academic journey.
For Fisher students, Living-Learning Communities offer an added layer of connection to the college and the broader Ohio State community. They can help students develop a sense of belonging, build a strong network of peers and make the most of their first-year experience.
What you'll experience
As a member of the Business Honors Living-Learning Community, you'll have opportunities to:
- Develop leadership skills and professional acumen through exclusive programming and workshops with corporate partners
- Participate in community service individually and alongside your cohort
- Connect with a dedicated BHLLC mentor and program coordinator
- Engage with Fisher alumni and business professionals through company visits and other experiences
- Build relationships with fellow honors students through shared residential, academic and extracurricular experiences
How to apply
Applications open each spring for the following academic year. Students must first be admitted to university honors before applying to the Business Honors Living-Learning Community.
Selection considers leadership and community service experience as well as a short essay response. The essay is an opportunity to share what motivates you, how you contribute to your community and what you hope to explore as a future business leader.
What you'll experience
Business Scholars participate in programming and experiences designed to help them:
- Develop strengths, leadership styles, personal branding and cultural competency while building skills for the workplace.
- Meet Fisher alumni and corporate partners through events, company visits and other professional experiences.
- Receive dedicated support from a Business Scholars program manager and an academic counselor familiar with the program and its expectations.
- Explore business beyond Columbus through travel to a major U.S. business center, where students may visit companies, connect with Fisher alumni, experience the local culture and practice networking skills.
How to apply
Business Scholars is part of Ohio State's Scholars Program. Prospective students interested in participating must apply to the Scholars Program through the Common Application when applying to Ohio State.

As a member of the Global Business Living-Learning Community, you'll have opportunities to:
- Connect with business professionals and executives through networking opportunities
- Visit companies and explore how organizations operate in a global environment
- Participate in career and professional development programming
- Develop cultural awareness through cross-cultural workshops and activities
- Build relationships with other first-year students who share an interest in global business
- Explore global business beyond the classroom through additional programming and travel opportunities
How to apply
Students may apply to the Global Business Living-Learning Community after being admitted to Ohio State. Applicants must intend to enroll at Fisher College of Business.
