High School Counselors play an integral part in the college search process for prospective students! We appreciate this opportunity to share information about Ohio State and Fisher College of Business.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Admission Criteria

    Students must first apply to The Ohio State University and indicate “Business” (or one of our 12 specializations) as their intended area of study. Once admission to Ohio State is determined, students will be reviewed for admission to Fisher.

    Fisher is a competitive admissions college.

    Direct Admit: choose specialization at time of admittance

    Pre- Business: meet one of the following criteria:

    • Minimum 26 ACT or
    • 1230 SAT or
    • Rank in top 20% of class
  • Visit Options

    We offer a variety of visit opportunities for students and guests. Visit go.osu.edu/VisitFCOB for detailed visit options:

    • Fisher Open House Information & Tour sessions on Monday, Friday, and select Saturday afternoons throughout the year
    • Individual Fisher campus tours led by student ambassadors are available most days of the week
    • Business class shadow- email Samantha Reed at reed.1006@osu.edu
    • Large group visits - email Chris Field at field.78@osu.edu (please allow at least a 2 week notice)

    Special Visit Options: Autumn 2019

    Explore Fisher: Saturday, October 19th from 1:00-4:00pm

    • Explore Fisher! is an invitation only program for high school seniors. Throughout the day guests will learn more about admissions criteria, academic opportunities, student support & resources, and leadership and engagement opportunities. There will also be a student led Q&A session, a Fisher complex tour, and a mock faculty class session. 


  • Business Major Preparation

    High school students looking to strengthen their academic foundation should consider the following:

    • Pre-calculus, Calculus, Statistics, Economics 
    • English composition and courses that further develop oral and written communication skills
    • Full list of accepted AP courses can be found here
    • Participation in student leadership organizations such as DECA, FBLA, internship programs, etc.
