In recognition of its commitment to providing Ohio State students, faculty and staff, as well as the business community across the state with global business perspectives, the Max M. Fisher College of Business has been named a recipient of a Title VI Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) grant.

Administered by the U.S. Department of Education, CIBER grants provide universities across the country with valuable resources to increase and promote the nation’s capacity for international understanding and competitiveness. Fisher was one of 16 universities selected to receive the grant and was the only new recipient for the 2022-2026 cycle.

“Thanks to the hard work of our Office of Global Business and our faculty leaders, we look forward to delivering on our CIBER promise by building international awareness among our stakeholders and working with our partners to meet the needs of a global economy that is changing every day,” said Anil K. Makhija, dean and John W. Berry, Sr. Chair in Business at Fisher. “This prestigious grant will allow us to scale our global offerings to address four key priorities: expanding global trade, highlighting the work of the National Center for the Middle Market, resolving supply chain and logistics challenges, and building talent pipelines that connect our partners to our students.”

Created in 1988, CIBER grants are awarded to institutions that serve as national resources for the teaching of improved global business strategies. CIBER institutions provide students with instruction in critical foreign languages and international fields to improve their understanding of the countries and cultures that conduct business with the United States. They also engage in outreach activities with other higher education institutions, provide international trade research and training opportunities, and they work with the business community to offer export assistance and training.
