Vice President of Leasing
Mark Schroeder has been employed with Visconsi Companies, Ltd. since 1998 as Vice President of Leasing. Mr. Schroeder has direct responsibility for the Leasing Department which is charged with the leasing activities for the existing portfolio of properties as well as new projects, either planned or under construction. He plays a vital role in the analysis, from a location and leasing point of view, of retail properties being considered for acquisition by the company. Mr. Schroeder's 25 years of experience in retail leasing serve as an invaluable tool in forming relationships with key national and regional retail tenants.
Prior to joining Visconsi Companies, Mr. Schroeder served as Vice President of Real Estate for Homeplace Stores, Inc., a rapidly growing chain of home fashion superstores. Joining Homeplace at the inception of the company in 1994, he directed the growth plans of Homeplace, performing all site selection and lease negotiation. Homeplace grew to a chain of national scope with 98 stores, opening in excess of five million square in three and one-half years.
From 1979 to 1994, Mr. Schroeder was employed by Revco Drug Stores, rising to the position of Assistant Vice President of Real Estate for that 2,000 unit chain of retail drug stores. During his tenure at Revco, the company doubled in size and store count. At Revco, Mr. Schroeder directed the efforts of six field real estate directors and had overall responsibility for the leasing activity in the 28 state operating area of the company.
From 1973 to 1979, Mr. Schroeder held various real estate related positions with the Sherwin-Williams Company, ranging from Locational Research Analyst to Regional Real Estate Director to Corporate Manager for Store Locations, nationwide.
Mr. Schroeder remains an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. He has been a frequent speaker at industry meetings, has served on the faculty of that organization's annual University of Shopping Centers, and has served as ICSC's Ohio State Retail Chairman from 1993 to 1995.
Mr. Schroeder graduated from Muskingum College in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Business Administration. He resides with his family in Aurora, Ohio.
