Fisher College of Business students on the Homecoming Court 2009
Three Fisher College of Business students were selected for the Homecoming Court 2009.Court members are chosen based on their leadership qualities, spirit, integrity, and achievement through their contributions and involvement at Ohio State. Court members then volunteer and serve as ambassadors during Welcome Week and Homecoming Week, prior to a student body vote and announcement of the Homecoming Queen and King. Jacqueline Elcik, New Executive Director, Undergraduate Programs and Advising Office
I would like to introduce myself, I started July 1 as the Executive Director of the Undergraduate Programs and Advising Office. I am excited to be back at OSU and in the Max M. Fisher College of Business. I am an alum of the Higher Education and Students Affairs (HESA) program at OSU, where I received a Masters in HESA; and was a graduate assistant in Fisher and University College. I have a Bachelors degree in Sociology and Psychology from Case Western Reserve University. My previous work experience includes holding the position of Interim Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Programs and Director of Graduate Programs in the College of Business at the University of Cincinnati and the position of Director of First Year Experience and Orientation at Miami University.
I am looking forward to the upcoming year, and I am proud of the many opportunities available to Fisher students. The UGPAO is responsible for the growth and enrichment of your academic life at Fisher. In collaboration with faculty, we promote the academic mission of the College. This is a responsibility that I along with all of the UGPAO take very seriously.
Your time at OSU will go quickly - take advantage of all of the opportunities at Fisher and OSU. Enjoy this time when all things are possible - be open, find balance, and have a great year! I am looking forward to meeting many of you during your academic career at Fisher and to welcoming you to our Fisher Family.
New Peer Advisors, Undergraduate Programs and Advising Office
The Undergraduate Programs and Advising Office of Fisher College of Business welcomes the new Peer Advisors. Each of them brings particular skills to our office to answer questions from undergraduate students or refer them to appropriate resources. Peer Advisors are available to help students each day during business hours in the Undergraduate Programs and Advisings Office, 120 Schoenbaum Hall, 210 W Woodruff Ave. Stop by and talk with a peer Advisor today!
Fisher Student Appointed as Undergraduate Student Trustee
Congratulations to Alex Swain, a dual degree student in Business and Allied Medical Professions, for being appointed as the Undergraduate Student Trustee to The Ohio State University Board of Trustees for a two-year term. In Fisher, Alex is involved with Undergraduate Business Council and the Business Administration Honors Contract Program. She has also been very involved with the Undergraduate Student Government, serving as Secretary of the USG Senate and as Chief of Staff. She coordinated the 2008 Student Involvement fair, is a Student Athlete Support Services Office (SASSO) tutor, and works as a research assistant at the OSU Medical Center. Good work, Alex!
