Samuel D. Koon attended The Ohio State University, receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in Real Estate and Finance in 1977 and his Master of Business Administration Degree with a Real Estate Major in 1983.  He has also completed credit requirements by the Society of Real Estate Appraisers, the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers and the Real Estate Securities and Syndication Institute.

Sam has been a fee appraiser since December 1976. He is President of Samuel D. Koon & Associates, Ltd., Real Estate Consultants and Appraisers.  The company’s scope includes appraisals, feasibility studies and consulting services for multifamily, commercial and industrial properties for lending institutions, private clients throughout the Columbus metropolitan area and the Midwestern United States.

Sam has also been an instructor of Real Estate Appraisal at Capital University and an instructor of Real Estate Development at The Ohio State University.

His professional affiliations include The Appraisal Institute where he holds an MAI Designation, and is a past president of the Columbus Chapter; Broker Member of the Columbus Board of Realtors, Graduate of the Realtors’ Institute, Ohio Association of Realtors, past President of Columbus Chapter of the Appraisal Institute in 1991, and a member of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers’ Young Advisory Council in 1982, 1983 and 1984.   Sam has served as president of Action for Children; is a member of the Board of Regents of Midwestern Seminary, Kansas City, Missouri; and is Chairman of the Church Council of Jersey Baptist Church, Pataskala, Ohio.

Sam is married to Sharon and they have two sons and two daughters.  In his spare time, he enjoys golfing.
