International Programs Office

Our students come from all over the world, and it is not unusual to find classes that have a mix of 30% international and 70% domestic students.

Our faculty also comes from countries suchs as Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, England, Germany, India, Israel, Switzerland, and Turkey.

You can be certain that teaching and learning go beyond domestic borders. In addition to the regular curriculum, there are a number of electives offered that have global business as their focus. Not surprisingly, our alumni network is worldwide, and alumni successfully work and live in over 80 countries around the globe.

Holding The National CIBER Award
The Fisher College of Business is home to a Center of International Business Education and Research (CIBER). CIBERs are supported and funded through the U.S. Department of Education. The purpose of each CIBER is to provide programming to link the manpower and technological needs of the U.S. business community with the international education, language training, and research capacities of universities across the country.

Offering A Wide Portfolio Of Global Opportunities
Fisher's International Programs Office creates and maintains a wide variety of programs for students and faculty as well as members of the business community. Some of these programs include the college’s popular Emerging Markets Field Study elective and assistance to students who are considering a global exchange semester.

Students now also can choose from a variety of Elective Career Treks, where they may explore financial markets in a trip to London (UK), meet with executives in Germany to assess as to how to optimize supply chain management or learn more about foreign government policies in a trip to Brussels, Belgium.

The International Programs Office also offers the popular Distinguished International Speaker Series (DISS), which brings in global executives to campus to discuss strategies for operating successfully beyond borders; facilitates seminars that provide professionals with tools to become more successful within the global marketplace; provides access to a wide range of language programs; and regularly organizes case challenges that simulate the global business environment in a competitive context.

Key Leaders Backing Us Up: CIBER Advisory Council
The Fisher College CIBER Advisory Council provides advice and counsel, as well as critical feedback and evaluation, about all CIBER activities.  The CIBER Advisory Council meets formally once each year, but each member of the Council normally participates in a variety of activities during the year sponsored by the CIBER or offered in other departments throughout the college.

"In my over 20 years as faculty at Fisher, I have had the opportunity to lead students both in the classroom and on site around the world - and have witnessed their transformation as they develop a truly global perspective on business."
