Professional Development

IMS offers several different program formats for facilitating networking, education, and topical discussions among Advisory Board Members, as well as employees of Member Companies including:  Executive Briefings, Roundtable Meetings, and our Workshop Series.

Executive Briefings

As a result of our diverse membership among leading companies in their respective industry segments, IMS  has access to thought-leaders in a wide variety of areas.  We draw upon these thought-leaders to deliver focused sessions that provide confidential access for “Member Company Only” sessions of current interest.

Roundtable Meetings

IMS works with Member Companies to conduct roundtable meetings to facilitate discussions and networking between the Advisory Board Members of our Member Companies on topics of critical interest.  Because our membership is, by definition, non-competing, our members have the ability to share insights and concerns with their peers.  These topic-specific meetings generally appeal to differing subsets of our Member Companies.  Board members gain the value of experience and insights provided by peers facing the same challenges outside of their own industry.

Workshop Series

IMS’ Workshop Series defines areas for hands-on training and education. Our workshops typically involve half-day sessions to teach the actual skill needed for day-to-day execution in the field. Students, often in teams, bring their individual challenges and data and leave with the ability to implement solutions in their organizations. IMS Workshops are open to Member Companies, as well as to the general business community.  Workshop topics include: calculating the cost of service recovery; exploring the value of a lifetime customer, developing service blueprinting, and quantifying marketing metrics.
